    Sorry, I just saw your post. I can't offer any new info on CRS since I haven't been with them in over a year. My advice is this;

    Their school is there to teach you the knowledge and skills you need to obtain your CDL. Listen to the instructors and follow their rules. If you have a question, ask!

    Your trainer will teach you the skills you need to run a truck. This includes driving and backing, qualcomm work, trip sheets, bills of lading, trip planning, how to conduct yourself at customers, etc. They should help give you an idea of how you want to run your truck once you are on your own. While on their truck, do what they tell you to do, and be respectful. If you can't get a grasp on something, ask them to explain it in a different way. If you have a question, ask!

    Personally, I beleive most, not all, horror stories are exaggerated. There are bad trainers out there. But from what I've seen at CRS they are few and far between. If you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation, let the trainer know. If you feel you can't speak to the trainer, call the training dept.

    Trucking is a difficult/different lifestyle. People experience different levels of culture shock. There will be good days, and bad days. Unfortunately, we tend to remember the bad over the good. Hold your head high, you can do this! :biggrin_25525: Good luck! Oh, if you have a question, ASK!:biggrin_25523:

    Now that my feelers are not all out of sort, I will graciously accept all of the kind words from those who took to my defense. 1bad, I am going to ask that as you told klingon to go back and reread the posts, I suggest you do the same. I made mention in my correction of you that my son was almost knocked off the road, and then when I made mention of the one mile wide portion (which confirmed your statement as you put it) I also mentioned the tornado that hit where my daughter lives. So, twice I made mention my family was "all up in it". I still suggest that you check the facts. As The National Weather Service is still crunching the numbers, the most current data reflects that neither of us was correct, in fact worse in some ways and not as bad in others. Tuscaloosa was an EF4 1.5 miles wide, 80+ miles long. The website shows only central Alabama, so does not reflect the other tornadoes I mentioned which did effect our family and friends. I was hurt because unfortunately I am a woman who wears her heart on her sleeve. I pray for all on this forum on a regular basis wishing only the best. Sometimes it hurts when I have shown respect and instead I get ill will. I ask for everyone to forgive me for taking up so much space on the forum for a frivolous subject. I still do pray that all of you do well, even 1bad, despite his ill wishes toward me. I am sure lady k and jess can attest to how hard April 27th was for me, and again I would hope none of you ever feel that helpless feeling. As to how hard we work, we run hard, else we would not be paying now $297 a week in over mileage. We have a goal. We will work toward it. From here on, I will only post when I feel my addition will add to the discussion. While I post in a truthful heartfelt way, I guess I should remember we are truck drivers and tell a lot of fish stories. If any of you doubt anything I say is true, call me on it. As said before, I will continue to pray for all of the drivers safety. And prosperity. Thank you jj for starting this forum, as I have said before, this has meant a lot to me, and look forward to the next steps we make and hope they are fast enough for others to make informed decisions. Right now we will be running hard as can be as we have money tied up and are finalizing our plans now. Be safe.

    Just keep remebering it will be over soon.. haha

    Seriiously your trainer is supposed to teach you how to do things Central's way. During orientation you will be given a training book. Make sure your trainer actually makes you do it all.

    You can ask for a new trainer if need be..
