just curious if a driver has bought a used truck from arrow truck the dealer seemed decent and up front and honest seems like someone can get into a decent used truck for about 50-70k for a dencent starter truck. the dealers name is rich i'll be buying the truck in so cal he said he would ship the truck to NV and id'e have to go pick it up i' a lil confused to why that is unless it's for taxes registration insurance? but he's willing to help me out get me going in the right direction andhelp me be succsesfull thats a plus i prefer to be my own boss than work for someone iknow what im getting into i have 200k stashed away for it so i'm not walking into it broke thats where i feel alot of newbies fail to i feel is they don't have the finances to back them up and they keep doing advances. i thought of going L/O but but the cost of the truck wasnt worth it when you can but a used one cheaper and your not latched on to one carrier to me thats a dis advantage when you can run off load boards then you gotta worry about the brokers that don't pay aswell. is it worth it to have my own trailer or not been pricing them out there about 30k but i don't know if a carrier would pay more for having my own trailer or not.

I looked at Arrow both in Nor Cal and So Cal and was probably a day away from pulling the trigger with them. I was comfortable with them and what they were selling, even though their prices were not great...OK, but not great, but I was willing to spend a few bucks to get what I wanted rather than compromise. Luckily I found everything I was looking for and more with a private seller through Craigslist of all places. I am glad I searched around even to the last day of deciding to go with Arrow as I saved almost $10k in the end and it was a two owner O/O truck rather than an old company truck, which is all of Arrow's inventory. Glad I found the O/O truck with all of the service records cuz a company truck with who knows how many drivers and how well serviced kinda scared me.
I would have no problems buying from them but I would search high and low for a private seller first...just my $.02 -
I bought a truck from Arrow a few years ago. You have to remember that almost all the trucks they have are lightly spec'd fleet trucks. And when a major fleets get rid of their trucks they get rid of the problem trucks first. Also major fleets trucks are spec'd to run 60-65 MPH so they aren't geared to run 70+MPH without running really high RPM's. Also a fleet trucks EMC will be password protected so to change the HP and speed will require either the password which they wont give up or a costly reset of the whole ECM at the engine dealer. They will offer you a extended warranty. The catch is you have to have it repaired by who the warranty company says and you will have a deductible. On top of that they have a book that says how much they pay for certain repairs. Say you have a injector go out. Dealer says $950.00 to fix. Their book says 800.00. You owe the deductible and the 150.00 difference. Yes thats still better than full price i'm just warning ya. Also if you use the in house finance its will be a HIGH rate. Just look at your numbers and see if its worth it. You might pay 60,000 for a truck but if they stick you with 18% apr you will be paying what you would for a new one.

Bought a truck from Arrow just last week. So far everything has been a-o.k.(knock on wood) and I'm very happy with my purchase. They pulled samples for me and a dyno at my request. After picking up the truck there were a few items I wasn't too happy with and they have agreed to make them to my liking, can't ask for more than that. I also agreed to go pick up the truck in K.C and bobtail back. They knocked a grand off the top plus expenses. Prob no skin off their teeth, saves them hassles and might spread their profit margin a bit, works for me. At the end of the day not a bad deal and I would have no problem recommending them to someone else. Good luck...

I sold my FLD for $6k so trust me, you can get a good truck, just need to look harder is all. $50k is a steep price for a fleet truck. Hell, I got my WS for $30k.... Arrow deals with thos who have less than desirable credit tho, so if your in that group then you prob don't have many other choices.
BTW, here is a pic of the FLD I sold, and the WS I got....
