Curious how you were having 3500 mile weeks and still not getting paid. There has to be more to this story or there would be an awesome lawsuit in this!

I would place my bet on the maintenance account going negative.

It isn't a fit for a lot of drivers, running a profitable business has nother to do with how good a driver you are.

So, if JCT gives you a truck that puts you in the hole from the get go, does JCT do anything to make it right? After all, they don't give you much choice in the truck selection.

LB how they handle issues with a truck you lease is decided differently for each situation. As a rule if you spot an issue immediately and record the issue and the need to get into the shop you are helped out if they dont take care of the issue out right.

Second, Maintenance alone will never run your business into the ground here. If your truck has major issues along the way. Either one big major problem or numerous petty things, you will not go belly up. If you maintenance account goes negative 1$ or 10000$ it is treated the same. Your maintenance account deduction is automatically bumped up to .10 a mile until you are back in the positive.

So if a guy runs 3500 miles and gets no paycheck it is due to a number of contributing factors. Advances, negative settlement from the week before, either from home time,or downtime while dealing with a breakdown, low miles the week before. Only due to a major mechanical shop cost if a copy of the paid invoice is not submitted for payroll to take from maintenance Acct.

They don't take lump sums out of your settlement for repairs, they just up your maintenance cpm until you get caught up. If this guy was getting negative settlements it was for other reasons.
