I dont know if PAM does this, but when I started with Decker (PAM subsidiary), I was supposed to make .28cpm. First 3 months I was at .26, 4-6 I was at .27, after 6 months though I got those .02 back and was up to .30, which is where I should have been. When Decker got dissolved and everything went to PAM, I'm not sure if PAM does that, or if it was just a "Decker thing".

1)4 weeks (28 days min) with trainer. Then Orientation, for you, most likely in North Jackson, OH. Then you get a truck. Depends on if there is one on yard or if you have to go get one somewhere. Then depends on if there is a load to get you home. You shouldnt have a problem getting from N. Jackson to Toledo. Isn't far, they might just bobtail you.

2)orientation you basically finish up all your paperwork, take tests, watch videos, take tests, do a pre trip test, do a road test, do a back or two....I did my orientation there and my pre trip consisted of "What do you check on the fifth wheel?" me-"make sure there is no gap?" "good, lets go, it's raining"....road course has a couple tight turns, but are doable. Backing...well, that all depends on how many trailers are there, and how crooked they are. lol

3)I cant comment on running teams, seeing as I have never done it, and I refuse to when I am training a student. All I can say is I hope you can sleep while you're bouncing down the road, especially in OK, AR, LA.....

4)you will get a POS truck.

My room mate and myself want to team up after we finish up with out trainers. He left out with his trainer middle of last week and i figure to be out on the road middle of next week. We get along pretty good, spent 3 weeks stuck in a hotel room together and yes i know thats not like nothing compared to be in a truck with someone day after day after day but i guess its better then being stuck in a truck with someone you dont know at all lol We talked about tonite if we like the team thing after 6months we will just stick with it, he lives less then a hour from my house so works out great. Plus the trainer hes with was telling him today teams at pam are getting alot of miles each week, so that will help :)
