I just signed on with Transam Trucking in Olathe Kansas. Don't worry, I don't think I'll be accepting their "lease" option unless they let me add the following addendum:
Lease Operator is guaranteed 2800 miles per week minimum. In the event that Lease Operator does not attain 2800 miles per week NOT due to driver availability, inclement weather, or mechanical breakdowns, Lessor shall reimburse Lease Operator up to the 2800 mile minimum guarantee on the next settlement due. Lease Operator does not haul loads to the Northeast of the United States, the Northeast for purposes of this contract shall consist of the States of Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, and Delaware and Lessor agrees there is no penalty to Lease Operator for such exclusion.
Now its them who won't sign their lease.
I've signed on with (GASP) Transam

You do realize majority of their freight is all north east don't you?
-
Lol as a company driver your gonna load in the meat patch and go to all them states you just listed.
-
Yea, I know. And haul beer back.
No different than when I drove for BT in the days when a trucker's GPS was something from Star Trek and unlimited mobile phones could only be afforded by CIA agents.
The question is, can I say "no" when they dangle the keys to that brand new 2011 Kenworth T700 in front of my face saying, "All you have to do is sign..."
Must....resist....must.....resist..... -
Dude, you will sign.....especially when they send in "Miss Ellie Mae" dressed in 'daisy dukes' with some cleavage, all perky and bouncy and REAL friendly, of course.
-
Does she come with the lease? I'd like that jump seat cover!
-
Me too.... but my wife told me.... NO!!!
-
can you get her with an older truck tho?
not sure i like the melted jelleybean look of the t-700 -
Now that you mention it, I'm not too hip with it either.

I don't know. Red seem to be an all to common color for truck too. -
Make her a red head and I'll take one.
