I live in Pennsylvania and wonder how long do companies look back at your driving record? Ive heard 3, 5 and 10 years.
I am one step away from being funded for my cdl classes! Just today I paid for my driving record and I have an accident in 2009 doesn't list who was driver or who s fault just the vehicle in my name.
I also have two speeding tickets in 2008 one will reach a three year point on may 30th 2011. I had my points removed on March 14 2009

............HOW FAR BACK DO COMPANIES LOOK BACK AND DO YOU THINK I LL HAVE A GOOD CHANCE # EMPLOYMENT?

HELP ME ITS BEEN A LONG PROCESS JUST TO GET FUNDED

as long as you have had your license...mostly the back search is for employment....I was in orientation with a guy the other week and the company had asked about an accident in 1987 that involved a fatality.

this is dependent on your state driving records and how far the 'immediate go back"...(you will have a "life time" record)

for instance, if your state goes back (say) 5 years, this is pretty much all the information the company will get when they order up a DMV check on you. BUT, IF a company wants your entire history, they can order that up as well. on average, most companies only get the "immediate" history.

don't matter class A or B...you said you have a ticket back in 2008..?? when do the tickets "drop off" in your state..??

as for B driving jobs, dump, waste hauling, waste oil, waste water, wrecker, whatever, there will be jobs, but you will (on average) work longer hours. sometimes, time and a half, sometimes straight time..

but you'd be home in most class B jobs, daily.

dump drivers around where I live usually make between 9 to 11 dollars an hour. then they work 60 plus hours a week, and in the winter time, business gets slow to the point where some of them work 2 or 3 days a week....If im going to haul freight for a living, its going to an 18 wheeler.

I know an O/O that plans on three months off in Dec-Feb and portions his pay off accordingly. He runs Binghampton area so that should be close to what you could expect about dump trucks. Delivery Vans or hot shots may be an option. Hot shots are almost exclusively team, but watch your local paper for delivery type jobs.

When you apply pay attention to the driving/license history form. Be completely honest because eventually they will find out. Most want a history of all licenses held for the last ten and driviing history for five I think.
