here you go being ignorent there are some really good dm's in conley like rich, and tamela and another one i forget his name but he covers the catfish fleet. yes theres some good ones in wvc and some real lazy ones also. and to the point you made about drivers not making good dispatchers my dm on the kraft fleet was john mass and let me tell you something he knew how to run a fleet. he was an ex driver who came off the road for family reasons. he knows what the drivers are up against out here and goes to bat for the driver every time. the catfish dm is the same way. these collage educated kids they bring in to run fleets have no idea what life is like on the road all they know is whats on that computer screen and really don't care as long as the load gets there. my dispatcher at road link is also a ex driver and knows how to dispatch keeps me at 2500 plus a week with being home 95% of the time. ex drivers in my opnion know what its like out here and make better dm's anyday in my opnion.

1badz28 - please try to recognise frustration and sarcasm... and there was a bunch in that post...

I'm sure at all the terminals there are good and bad DMs... also everyone has their own opinions and feelings about different people. You might think someone is the greatest, but due to our experiences with them - we think they are <_____> and the reverse is possible too.

PS - I really don't care about your opinion of us - just by reading some of your posts gives me an idea of who you are, and are like... Have a nice day...

i have a question, how many drivers there stay more than 1 year, yens may have to ask a dispatcher or what not, and after your training, do drivers get home every other weekend, here in pittsburgh,pa. have grass to cut and empty out the old mail box, (2 weeks out is the norm) are most deliverys between 10pm and 5am, i work at transam back in the 90s hauling mad cow meat for 2 years wondering if the same there at central if the same then dry will be better, (but then again) what would you say the average miles per trip is over 1,000 to 1,500 or 800 and less with lots of SWAPS, thanks

not many stay a year some do its all in how they adjust to life on the road i guess. but they want you to stay out 4 weeks with 4 days off that seems to be the norm for a lot of these big carriers. on the deleveries it seemed to me that it was about 50/50 on night time and daytime dels with more pu's in the daytime. the miles kinda depend on which fleet for example the kraft fleet usually runs less miles but the pay per mile is higher. the dole fleet from what i understand gets some pretty hefty miles doing a lot of cross country runs. not so sure how the milage is on the coors fleet if heard varing stories. now the otr fleets the milage all depends on who your dm is and how hard your willing to run and pester them for that next load when i was otr i did around 2800 a week i dont think i ever hit 3000 as a solo. but on kraft 2200 to 2400 was a good week but the pay was higher at .36cpm where otr was .29 or .28 cpm at the time. usually theres a not a lot of swaps but then theres times when you see more than you want. seemed to be less swaps on dedicated though. my advise would to be keep the neighborhood lawn kid on standby cause since central did away with the guaranteed home time policy they seem to have a bit of a problem getting folks home on time.

Central is a "training company" and drivers usually try to find a company where the grass is greener after they have their school paid off, or they leave before the year and then have the bill collectors chasing them. There are a lot of drivers here that like the company, I for one am pretty happy, stay out a month, get good miles and not a lot of headaches with the people here. As far as honmetime, I just send in my mac21 and my dm gets me there on time or early. Heavy freight season is coming now so there may be some hiccups along the way, but I have never been late for hometime.
