If you would have seen my thread last week I started that explained, I was leased to QC running a dedicated lane for DOW Chemical. Last week QC signed a new 2yr contract with DOW but the rate dropped $1,000 and I decided it was not enough $ to cover my bills and make it worth while. So I came back over to SNI (where I had worked previously on the choice program) and am now back to dragging pumpkin trailers. It's not a big deal to QC I guess, but $1,000 out of my profit is to me.

Bummer, but as they say " All good things must come to an end".

I have a friend on the Choice Program who was an O/O at Crete before going to SNI. He's been there for three years and likes the ability to pick his own loads, which interested me also. However after comparing our numbers I had no more interest.

Last year he averaged $1.29 pm on SNI miles (HMG short miles). I averaged the same per mile but on practical miles. I also realize all O/Os on the Choice Program operate differently and his results are not representative of the program as a whole.

Therefore I would greatly appreciate a monthly synopsis from you and Medicine Man on your revenue and miles. Thanks

Does SNI impose a speed limit on O/O trucks?

only for logging. you can't log faster then 65. they don't care how fast you run though, it's your truck. however with the E logs it kind of goes hand in hand. personally if I'm speeding I just won't log any off time for the fast pit stops and it usually averages 65. I don't run too much faster then that anyways, fuels too expensive

that won't be a problem. I was debating on starting a thread with my weekly load info over here. If you know how to work the board, know the lanes to run and where to go and not to go you can do well. It also has a lot to do with where you live. I can get quite a few loads over $2.25+ from the Chicago area where I live. My plan is to do like I did before I left and stick to about 300 miles a day or out n back at 500 miles a day. I did that before, worked Mon-Thurs and brought home $1500 a week, but that was also with a truck that avg'd 7+mpg .... the WS is about 5.5mpg so far LOL!

My plan, if I went to the Choice Program # SNI, was to do what you suggested SCH. And go home to SOTEX every third week. If I went home every week or two I'd take a financial hit on the outbound rate from there. But.......I wasn't impressed with my friends numbers and stayed where I am.

Is Indy and Charlotte the only two places they do Choice O/O orientation?

From what I know of, yes. I will ask the coordinator tomorrow tho and know for certain.

I do know that the freight out of Texas is not very good, but the freight WITHIN Texas is actually not bad. I know of 2 guys who live in Waco and run just Texas and do well. Mainly Dallas to San Antonio and Houston and do very good. I have not tried that, but before I got with my fiance, I used to spend all winter south of I-20 ;)

Doing the Texas Triangle interests me very much. If not much trouble could you do a couple of mock TX runs and tell me what an average cpm load/mty would be?
