And it's into week one correct? Lets see how that floats down Love Canal! I wonder what the odds are in Vegas on that lasting and what the spread is? LOL

Now as to this thread.... I'd jump now and not take a chance that it will come out peachy keen! Staying on is like wondering if a lead balloon will float on water.

Just a FYI....seen a AAX truck headed north through Polk City Fl this morning. I guess they are getting out of Lakeland.

The company never shut down, so I don't know what you are insinuating. They are still running OJ from Lakeland to the NW and produce back to Publix. We fuel and scale out at the Loves and then go north thru Polk City to get up to I-75. Local drivers run that route to go up to get OJ loads in Leesburg and then bring trailers back to Lakeland for the OTR drivers.

On my own personal note, I finally got the call that a truck is ready for me and since they have paid me and reimbursed my expenses, I will return to Lakeland Thursday and get back on the road. There have been no further repos and drivers that I have spoken to say all is normal with loads and fuel cards. Hate to disappoint the naysayers by continuing to have faith in Mr Lewis, but I have faith he is doing what he can to keep his company afloat. If I hear more about the transition from AAX to Runway I will post more on Friday. I know its a gamble, but as I've said before, if they are running me 3200 miles a week and making payroll I see no reason to go back to 700 mile length of hauls and sitting at warehouses 5 days out of 7 every week for less pay. cheers.

Good for you for sticking it out with your company. If they didn't want the company to survive they would have filed chapter 7 and liquidated the company rather than chapter 11 to reorganize. All too often the rats will abandon ship and make things even more difficult. Some of the largest corporations in this country have filed bankruptcy and survived. Penny's, GM, Chrysler, Boeing, etc., It is not a pleasant way for a company to go but it enables them to renegotiate payments, interest rates, etc., If all creditors were willing to work with a debtor it might not be necessary. Often when a company or individual gets into trouble creditors increase interest rates and escalates payments which makes it even more difficult to repay them. It is very stupid of the creditors, but that is what has happened in the consumer markets the last couple of years, driving more people into bankruptcy. Lewis wants to save his company and this may be the only way that he can get some breathing room to save it. By filing bankruptcy, he may even be able to get some of the repossessed equipment back. This is a time for employees to work with the company for the benefit of all rather than throwing the owner or company under the bus.

I'm not trying to insinuate anything. Was just providing some input to show that they are still up and running. AAX's routes sound like a dream and would be just what I'm looking for had I not found the job I have now. I hope they pull it off.

Hate to disappoint the naysayers :biggrin_2555: Go back and read your own posts at the start of the thread .

For example " I met the guy in charge of maintenance and he was nice and sincere but I was left with a lot of questions and items about the truck I was assigned were dismissed (broken front fairing from a deer strike was left for me to duct tape back together)"

Lot of posters offered ADVICE no more no less , so good luck hope it all works out.

sorry, I don't understand your point. I don't need to read what I wrote, I know what I wrote. I illustrated a half dozen issues with this company 6 months ago which is why it is in this category (maintenance, communication, fuel networks, disrespectful load planners ...). And my take has been pretty much optismistic while still reporting the failures which is why I don't consider myself a naysayer.

Comments and advice based on truth are one thing, comments made out of ignorance of the facts are another. Bringing up criticism from reading ripoff reports and safestat info that are 2-3 years old is pretty much irrelevant given the firing of the Pres and VP, and the change over to elogs. I'm still amused by any professional driver who doesn't accept responsibility for his own choice to run the truck and complains that his company is "forcing" him or trying to "pursuade" him to run illegally. I have bent a rule or two since coming on board and have done it with full consideration of the consequences and I have also refused to bend a few rules with full consideration of the consequences (and I was not fired!).

Chicken little cries of AAX closing, stranding drivers around the US and a total failure of the financial side of the business do nothing to keep this thread as intended, an honest report of current conditions at AAX with some insight from an insider.

As soon as I can afford to get out the truck and transition to another job, I am quitting and have already had that discussion with one of the VPs.
AAX should absolutely be in the bottom of the barrel for anyone not ready to be underpaid and overworked and unless you live in Lakeland, not get any hometime, just a 34 hr restart every 2 weeks.

Bbmyls2go, You are stating here that you are leaving. What changed your mind?
