So today was pretty much a waste of time, by the time I finished my 10 hour brake and got to school I did 1.5 hours in the class then went to lunch. Only then to find out the instructor that was one the road in the morning isn't going back out he'll be in the classroom with the new students. So I spent a 2 more hours in the Classroom, so now I'm done with Driving/Class/Yard all I need now is 12 MORE lol hours of Observation time. So Hopefully after the 5 Hours I'll put in on Thursday and 7-9 hours I'll put in next Saturday I will be 100% Done! but worst case scenario I can come in next Sunday to. Then all I have to do is fax my new certificate and my grades to my recruiters and I'll be at orientation on either Sept 27th or 28th depending on which company I go with, Watkins Shepard or KLLM Transportation.

Day 18 was my second to last day, I did a pre trip, 6 hours of Observation time, and 2 hours of drive time.

Here is the Best truck they have, It's a Freightliner Columbia, not sure on the year......I really like driving this one.

OK so as of Today September 19th 2010 CTDTS cost $3500. They have equipment that ranges from OLD Cab overs to a fairly newish Freightliner Columbia. And vans/flatbed trailers.

Overall I'd say if your a quick learner and are somewhat mechanical this school might be for you.

Some of the instructors are GREAT they WILL teach you how to DRIVE a truck, not just hold the wheel rolling down a 4 lane road. They WILL take you into the CITY and out in the COUNTRY and up in the MOUNTAINS. They run multiple trucks at a time out on the yard so you WILL get TONS of backing practice.

So now the big question, Is this school better then Trans Tech (Better known as Charlotte Diesel Driving School)? While this school cost a little more and is the same length as Trans Tech, I would say YES you will definitely get your moneys worth. I think that someone that comes out of this school will be a much better driver then a Trans Tech Graduate....

MORE Companies also hire out of CTDTS then Trans Tech.

I hope this thread can help my fellow new drivers here in the Carolinas!

    Thanks For Reading!

The only up side to trans tech is they use 53' trailers. Trans tech is also more structured as well.

But charlotte truck driver training school (if you go on the weekends) will give you better training and more companies hire from there.

yeah TT is very structured. the two CDL examiners are hard ##### too, but if you aren't a sissy, you'll actually learn alot from them...
