Is con-way hiring?

Which Con-way division did you look in??? I know truckload(CFI) is always hiring here in Florida, they have ads on Craigslist today for Tampa, Orlando, and Ocala. The LTL side is tougher to get on with as I understand it!

Call their 800# and ask for Christine in Recruiting. She'll be straight-up with you. But DO NOT fail to disclose anything and everything from you past. Integrity is Huge with Con-way.

 

Aman to that, my room mate at orientation went home because he didn't disclose a job he had for a few days because they wanted him to run illegal he was sent home at lunch of our last day, basically 2 hours before we got our truck assignments, so disclose it all. And if Christine isn't available ask for Karen she was mine.

 

I understand what you're getting at and know you're excited to start here but I hope you understand it's a one way street. I've worked for CNWY for the last 8 years and remember them preaching integrity as they hired new drivers they knew #### well they were gonna cut 2 months later when they closed 40 Freight terminals.

I remember them telling me about 5 or 6 years ago now we would not add sub-service or basically other carriers pulling Con-way Freight's freight..haha.. I've never seen more..

They told us integrity was key as they slashed our wages and bennies for a 750 million dollar acquisition.. I suppose we're back to where we started and I have confidence in Doug S., but to think I'll forget those "integrity" speeches from John L is ridiculous.

I work here for two reasons and two reasons only. I have enough seniority at Freight that I can do whatever I want for the year, and I'm at top scale so I can make 100K if I bid it - that's it. I'll still recommend Freight over 98% of the other driving jobs because of the pay but "integrity" would be about 99 out of 98 reasons I still work here man..

 

Hey XLS, Keturah gave me the go ahead after my interview with her yesterday. Just waiting on them to do my backround and go over my sched C's, she's setting me up for a bootcamp July 11th.
