Yup...you can take that satisfaction all of the way to the poor house. Just remember, the bankruptcy attorney is going to want his money up front.

Trucking is a business. If you aren't going into business to make money, you are going in for the wrong reasons and you probably won't last very long.

Your priority #1 ought to be whether or not the truck is spec'd to handle the type of work you intend to do with it. Not all trucks are created equal.

Your priority #2 ought to be whether or not the truck will be economical for you to operate. Will you be able to afford to fuel it, maintain it, repair it, insure it, etc.

Your priority #3 ought to be the ease with which you can get it repaired...shops, parts availability, etc. Downtime costs money. Special orders cost time AND money.

Priority #4 should be comfort and enjoyment behind the wheel...that's where you're going to spend the majority of your time....unless you screw up priority #1, in which case you'll spend most of your time under the hood or under the truck trying to fix something you tore up because your specs weren't up to the job....or you screw up priority #3, in which case you'll spend most of your time sitting around waiting for parts to show up...

Priority #3,937 might be the chicken lights, hardwood floors, shiny bumpers, etc.

...and LP tires are just as gay as 22.5's.

Lucky for you, there's tons of shops with LOTS of experience working on them motors, so unless the part you need was just went out the door on another truck, they probably have it in stock....:biggrin_25522:

I've pulled vans before....just don't look right behind my rig, though. I got better fuel mileage than I was EXPECTING to get, given that I have a 10-12 foot gap between the back of my cab and the front of the trailer, and the tips of my exhaust stacks will clear a 10' overpass. :biggrin_2556:

That wasn't what I was referring to, though. What I meant was you don't buy a stretched out, chromed out, low riding, geared fast, 198" road apartment, highway cruising, show truck to go playing in the dirt pulling a dump bucket or stick wagon....just like you wouldn't buy a heavy spec'd, low geared, camelback Mack daycab to go running coast to coast in front of a reefer. Gotta buy a truck built to do what you intend to do with it.

Just wondering--if both tires are blackwalls--and not shined--how can I tell which one is actually gay--I really do not need one bad apple--becoming a bad influence on my 17 other well behaved church going tires?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank You
