Brother and I heading out tomorrow to do what was originally intended for Memorial Day. Going out to decorate graves and remember what they meant to us. Got the 2 sets of grandparents to do and moms. Would do dads but the worthless beetch that was married to him refuses to tell us what she did with his ashes. Oh well, will lift one in a toast to him while we're kicking back in the cabin, tomorrow night, relaxing.

WOW this thread is growing like a darn weed. Been gone a few weeks and blame a bunch of new pages. Hope all is well with JJ and jess. I am now with Prime-Inc, thinking about hitting lease next week when I am done with this trainer.

Yep we are doing good....Packing every penny away to buy our own truck:yes2557: Be careful with the Lease I really hate lease deals after our Fiasco with Central Ref.

Keep us informed about where you are and we might be in the same area for a meal or somethin!

Had the rcv ok, no xmit once. Turned out negative wire loose. Re-tightened, actually reconnected. Work 4.0...OK:biggrin_25519:

was stuck at the coop. couldn't find the paperwork to get me through the scale. called the company and i got ye'lled becuase this truck was dot's 2 weeks ago. after 2 hours i finally started finding one page at a time.

spent the night at the truck stop.

today i went through las vegas dot in daylight. called company again. i have yet to find ANY peace of paper that says nevada. let alone the oversized permit.

i'm an idiot cuz i don't recognize the proper papers. when they don't keep there #### organized. i've got TONS of papers. all are utah. and MOST are expired.
ALL SITTING IN THE DOOR PANEL.

good thing nevada just waved me by. course. if our fuel card woulda worked. i wouldn't have had to stop for 3 hours cuz i was out of fuel. and made my delivery before anyone opened up.

this weeks trips. plymouth ut hauling 60 ft. rebar to vegas. sheetrock from vegas to phoenix, dh to miami, az for copper tubing to ogden, ut. dh to plymouth for rebar again to vegas. miscellaneous from vegas to phoenix where i finally take a break. deliver bright and early then have to wait till 1 to load 5 stopper for salt lake on monday. that outta be fun.

so, what trucker gps's yall using?
i bought the new rand mcnally model. and i gotta say. it has abosultely no clue where the hell it's going and how to get there without draining the fuel tanks.

sprint nav is kicking it's ###. if only it did trucks.rand adds 80 miles to the trip of vegas to phoenix. and takes me INTO prescott instead of on the freeway. within 10 minutes i was where NO TRUCKER has been. and then it brainfarted and had no clue how to get me out.

Just got back to the house from our little adventure. A day and a half, turned into 2 1/2 days but oh my!!!!!!

There are other threads going bout how GPS can get you onto trouble......., add a Gazeteer to it and you can REALLY get into trouble!!!! (a Gazeteer is like an atlas but for the state your in. Shows all the county roads and others) Only problem with it is, some of the orads it shows ARE NOT any kind of road you want to be on unless your in a 4 wheel drive vehicle. We ended up going thru pastures, and had to open and close gates. Ran into a rancher who got us on the right track. :yes2557: Least he didn't pull a gun and demand to know why were trespassing!!!! Had lots of fun tho!!!

    JimBob24 Thanks this.

Been a long week. Ran every hour I could all week (accept when they had me waiting here and there).
Did not manage to get home yet though. We are working on that but is not looking good.
May possibly get home for the day Monday, but will have to head out Tuesday morning, so no restart. But I will get hours back at 0100 est on Tuesday, so will be able to move again.
I am outside Dayton OH, and I have 9.5 hours left to get me to Tuesday lol. I am on a load headed to Rochester NY, but trying to swap it for a Buffalo. If I can get the Buff then I might make it home early Monday morning, like 0200.
If not I will have to make it to receiver tomorrow, sleep on their lot till 0800 Monday, unload, and try to make it to a truck stop before my 70 is up. If I even have time to do a pretrip at that point.

I have had the rand 500 since it came out. It use to be really bad. Now it is not too bad, but I still route myself and just use it as a backup.
