1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Having very hard time looking for work,I started a small business shortly after trucking school in 07 and now I think I made a big mistake.I haven't really drove for any company and now every trucking company wants me take a refresher program.I'm ok with that but my next problem is I haven't work since mid 09,after only owning a business just little over a year,I sold it.I didn't ready need a income about a year and now since I don't have stable work history I having hard time with that also. What kinda mess me up I got a speeding ticket in June of 09 and had gotten green light from few companies until they found out about the ticket. So after words I just when on living off from savings and now its time for me to get my career going.I was thinking maybe going throw Swift school but I don't want to be stuck on a 1 year contact or how ever they suck you in and I could pay for a refresher training courses but I don't want to spend $1800 and then find out no companies will hire me cuz again lack of staple employment. So what should I do?I'm running out on ideas.

Most of the CDL mills have an 1-2 week course (vs. the normal 4-5 week course) thar are designed to make the companies happy. I'd check with the school you got your CDL with and see what they say. Otherwise you can get recent experience but looking for local small companies or an O/O that needs some extra help.

call watkins shepard, i know we need east coast drivers BAD! Put it this way, they sent out a QC message offering to help our drivers that live else where to move to NC!:yes2557:

You will still have to go back to school but at least W/S is a good company and you will make GOOD money from day 1.
