I use GPS too. I have found it to be wildly inaccurate sometimes. It is most noticeable in more rural areas from my observations. I always trip plan and carry a Commercial Atlas and current truck stop guide. You have the option to see the GPS route before starting out and you can compare it your atlas. It works and will keep you off county roads that are not designed for CMVs.

I look at the routing that Maverick gives me, then I put the route in my gps, and then I look at my rand McNalley (sp) I then look at the specific instructions on getting into the place provided by Maverick. These are usually from another driver. I compare them all and decide which is the best way to go depending on the roads and terrain that i have to go over.
After a year and a half I have learned when to ignore my gps as she sometimes lies to me. -
does anyone know if maverick is hiring out of new hampshire? i would need to go to the cdl training if that makes a difference.

Best thing to do is call them. They do not offer cdl training. You have to have that before you go to Maverick. You can be just out of school though. -
