Just glad there's still a few folks who make the kind gesture. Most don't do anything anymore they are too busy yapping on the phone or watching a movie on a portable dvd player propped up on the dash.

We constantly get flashed at with our low beams on. I have had the lights checked out and they are fine. We even did our own little test and followed the personal vehicle and then did head on and we can't see what everyone is ######## about.

With so many trucks being turned down to 62 mph, you can't expect them to flash or signal everyone that passes them. They'd be flashing all day.

If you turn 'em off and turn 'em back on, I'll flash my tail lights to say thanks.

If you put your high beams in my mirror while I'm looking to see if I've cleared you yet, I'll hit my work lights & give you a bright light right back in your face....

And if there's nobody behind me, I'm not going to slide over quite yet anyway. Just because I've cleared the nose of your truck doesn't mean it is safe for me to move over....and if you change lanes 2' off my nose because you THINK you are clear, and there's nobody behind you, don't be surprised to see me move out into the left lane. And yes, I'm cussing you out. If there's a car itching to squeeze around you, it's one thing to change lanes a little closer. When there are NO other vehicles around, though, use your head and leave the guy you just passed a little space.

    OK....rant over.:biggrin_25516:

i think something that could really help is to put up short public service type ads on the tv screen at the eating area. MOst truckstops i've been to have 2-3 tv screens in the dinning area. So every 15 mins or so, just pop in a 30 second psa announcement stating not to do this.

Sadly there are fewer and fewer drivers like you out here

Even more sad is that there are more and more drivers like you two out here.

    Well put!

I move back over when there's adequate room regardless of when someone flashes their lights or wants around me. People that pass and leave zero room when coming back in make me cranky and when they do it and there's no traffic they get an awful cussing as I move to the left lane!

Ya know? I'm in my mid 50's and my eyes are a little sensetive to light sometimes and yet when I pass someone and they flash the high beams at me....I seem to survive it.
I'd prefer that they shut them off mometarily instead but it's really not a big deal if they don't.
Some trucks don't have the capability anymore to shut them off because of daytime running lights so I expect that they will sometimes flash the high beams at me...I'd rather have them do that than have them do nothing.

I don't understand what the problem is...I just keep the mirror in my peripheral vision and wait till I see the lights flash and then I decide if it's time to move over or if I want to wait for a little more space first.
It's nice to know that if I needed to move over right away for some reason that I am in fact clear of the front of their truck.

So I say....Flash away, You ain't bothering me!
