Well for what is worth here's my input about working at Conway Truckload. I have been with them for nearly 6 months and I'm still just as impressed as I was on day one. I really enjoy the job, my fairly new truck and most of the terminals. Now to the negative. Some things never change or improve, I keep getting the wrong address sent to me from dispatch. I have to find the correct address myself. Dispatchers don't seem to talk to each other because one tells you one things while another is sending you some place different only for yours to tell you to turn around and go back. It puts you out of route and you have to explain. Going in and out of Canada is a huge hassle and they don't tell you all the fees you will need to pay out of your pocket, so always make sure you have cash/credit cards on hand. Smokers rule here. Joplin terminal is the best one but smoke is everywhere. All others terminal are very small but there is no smoking allowed. Hummmm????? Weird. If you request a nonsmoker during training they find you one but when the day comes to get your truck odds are it will be from a smoker. They charge $300 bucks non refundable and 1c a mile for persons with pets but nothing to smokers. Not fair at all. No breakdown pay. HOLD times when calling dispatch and road service SUCK. Make sure you have an unlimited plan. Weekend dispatchers have no clue. anyway even with all that I am very happy here just wish these simple things would get fixed.

Wow, what happened to you in Canada? I was just there and all I had to pay for out of pocket was a one page fax. I do agree with you that Con-way is an excellent company to work for. I haven't been around quite as long as you, but I am happy nonetheless.

6 months an u sure have alot to complain about.. I have been to Canada many times an only paid once $10.75 and the Faxes we get are clearence papers. well Conway returns the Money. an I use my comdata card to pay to get in and to pay the weight to get out.

Thank u kind hearted
1st please understand I an very happy working here however all driver have a deferent experience. Conway nor my trainer ever told me or anyone in my class about using comdata Card to get n. I just called Taylor term and they told me to always have $60 ready to enter and exit. I asked how much they charge at the boarder but they didn't know. I adapt and do the job just wish minor fixes would b made to fix the problems. When u see or have a problem and address it no one else seems to fix it. I have sent corrections to addresses n the past to help next driver only to get the same address again the next month unchanged. -
I do understand what you are saying there. I have sent in for dircs to be fixed an its the same thing you get. m I do hope you use your truckers atlas? I've been to many of these place, I have been b4 with my other company I don't own a gps either. I hate getting lost. I call the shipper or the Cons to make sure i do have the right directions just in case its a new place or what. good luck

I've went back several pages and couldn't find much talk about teams. I read where teams average 5000 miles a week. Is this correct? Where do teams mainly run? Is there a certain truck that they keep teams in? What about drop and hook for teams?

conway truckload it doesn't matter if you have 3,000,000 miles you are treated just the same as the new guy out of school

I found out the hard way that you were right about needing money to go to Canada and back. The comdata card only works in Detroit.

I started driving for ConWay with a trainer. He was some hillbillie wearing filthy, greasy, reeking overalls and.. and.. he tried to make me squeal like a pig.
