Can't wait till you see Hagerstown at 2-3 AM.. You'll have the advantage of bailing before the re-ship is over, but I used to run there and stay till the bitter end - 8 or 9 AM on a weekday back then man.

What is the re-ship, our hagerstown guy leaves at 7 from our terminal but comes straight back. The supervisor told me he is gonna send me to carlstadt, and newark first, then he will set up a milton run, and will try to get me to do a hagerstown just so I no it. If we get busy we will run either 2 or 3 guys to hagerstown, so not too sure yet, I will let u no though wut I think of it

I'm an ex Conway'er was laid off after a year (not to scare you happens to the best companies time to time) miss the work but you will work hard! Went through the driver apprentice program too. It was fine had a good time loved line haul never really did city (not crying about that either). Keep it up get your pre trip down so whenyou go for your test they can skip 1/2 of it. Conway is a good company pays well.

got a 100 on my written final, 90 on pre-trip and 90 on skills test. my trainer is the 2 time state truck driving champion so he tested the skills test as they do it there. graduation is next week then i start linehaul the next day. only thing im worried about is that they hired two guys with experience after me and idk if that bumps me on senoirity, it wouldnt be fair since ive been there since feburary and they came in april.

From what everyone tells me at my terminal your seniority starts the first day of class in the apprentice program. You should bump whoever was hired on after your first day of class. Congrats on the test scores!

I just finished the apprentice program 2 weeks ago and was able to get out of the class after 6 weeks. I did my week of linehaul last week and now I'm in the city this week. Nights were okay but my wife didn't like that at all lol. I should bump 3 guys next week who were hired on after I started the apprentice classes.

Hey can you all give me some info on Conway freight? I'm living in Chicago and I know union wages very depending on location and all but if you get hired with exp what is the pay rate you start at and how long does it take for your union insurance to kick in? I'm looking into Conway because they are hiring like crazy where I live and from a person I know that works there in the logistics, she said they can't find enough drivers. Thanks for any info you can give me. Pm me if you don't want to say anything out in the open on here.

Hey milskired, pay when I worked 4 c.w. was $18.75 to start (once you got your CDL). Conway was not union (atleast here Hagerstown). I believe you went up to $23/hr after 3 years??? Maybe it was 4. I am looking at possibly going back myself, even though they laid me off, put in an app. there will have to see what transpires. Good luck!

Graduation is being held off due to the uniforms not in yet but we r going now as drivers and the day super wants us all to do a week of pd training to get a look at the docks

I can make this very simple for everyone here........

Your seniority date starts the day you are hired as a driver and that is the bottom line. As an apprentice you will be bumped by someone hired off the street as a driver because it is the date you started driving here..

I was hired as a driver with 1.5 OTR back in 2003 and would have pissed off if someone in the apprentice program jumped me a few weeks later even though I was a driver here before them. This is not a beginner job - those of you that are starting out here need to understand that.. If there are 100 of you 80 will say this place sucks and leave because you never drove anywhere else..

Your seniority starts here the day you drive and that's the end of the story. You won't get new trucks, run long, or make 100K in your first year but you can down the road..

    Boonie Thanks this.
