Its going good for the most part.

If you dont already have your CDL, I would recommend getting ot before attending Stevens school as this will give you alot more drive time and you dont have to worry about studying for the tests.

The instructors are all good except for one that none of us feel does a very good job.

You will pay about $25 a week for the school (3 years), $25 a week for your room, transportation there and to repay $70 a week to live on and today we signed up for our insurance and that runs $44 a week for self coverage.

I cant speak for other schools/programs but I am happy with my choice and would recommend Stevens.

If you already have your CDL, you don't need to attend Stevens School. It is for people needing their CDL.
You will go directly into orientation, and then out with your trainer after about 4-5 days. You will not have the costs for three years.
Also, unless things have changed lately, Stevens will reimburse you for your CDL school you attended before coming to orientation. It's done at the rate of 25 per week. Not sure of the limits.
Talk to your recruiter. They can tell you the details.

Thanks. I am getting CDL in June thru school. This way, if I get into a company and it doesn't work, I don't have a "liability" to them. That way, as you said, I can get out with trainer after a few days..THANKS AGAIN!!

    Not necessarily.

I had my Class A CDL for a year now, but I got the CDL on my own. In other words I didnt go through any school to get it. I also dont have any T/T experience. In my case I had to go through school even though I posses my CDL.

There are 8 of us in the school that already had our CDL's before starting school. Most of the others have driven in the past but have been out fom behind the wheel for a few years so they also had to take the school.

If you have recent experience, you then go straight to orientation...

And yes, call the recruiter for details!

You can buy out your "contract" early. Basically if you go through the school at Stevens, within a year of your hire date you can pay $3600 to the school and you will no longer be held to the contract and your schooling is paid for. Contact a recruiter for details.

Dont know about your part of the country, but $3600 is a pretty good deal around here...
