Werner Fontana: Orientation is short and sweet. Drug Test is old school (no hair follicle bs). Stay at La Quinta, San Bernadino. Van Service is Frequent although I always drive my car to remain independent. Terminal is nice. The safety guy who runs orientation is old school trucker who has no issues and is honest. They don't verify drive school so just say you went to Dophin Trucking School, Covina, CA and you are in. Paperwork and videos and you are out with a trainer with no drive test.
Best to state you have 5 years experience from many years ago so they treat you as co-driver and not some rookie (unless you are). Being a co-driver gives a heads up to trainer that you can drive and you pretty much can be left alone to do your 140-210 hours. Real rookies get I think around 280 hours. Although this board has been highly uncomplimentary to Werner (me too as I read the nightmare posts), my experience has been good. I got a good trainer and I remain independent. You must assert independence in trucking or you will get walked on. YOU MUST BE INDEPENDENT EVEN IF IT IS A BLUFF TILL YOU CAN PUT MONEY IN THE BANK TO PROTECT YOUR HAPPY LIFE. TRUCKING IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN SO DON'T LET THE NON-DRIVING PERSONNEL AT A COMPANY INFLUENCE YOUR HAPPINESS. I learned these TRUTHS brutally and left the industry for 15 years and accidentally got financially independent at a software company but I returned to trucking after retirement because I always was happier there.

Sooo...pretty much you are telling people to lie...Great way to get off to a great start and put a potential rookie on the road to killing someone..Nice values..Especially for someone who talks about "truths"..Little ethics problem there Juan..

    FluffyGuy and Jarhed1964 Thank this.
