Elgin Community college offers cdl training also but they only offer a 9 week class
baseballcoach Thanks this. -
You guys make it all harder then it is, no school will teach you to the point an employer will just send you on your own. I will repeat, you learn more in the first few days of your job then your entire training. More expensive schools will teach you more but it means close to nothing for a potential employer where u got the license from. Do these schools teach you how to drive fully loaded??? NO

I disagree, I am doing my homework here to get the best school , Yeah any of the starter companies for the most part will hire you with your CDL from just about any school . If you want a chance for a local job at the start wouldn't a accredited program with over 100 hours in the truck look better to an employer . Waubonsee College DOES run the trucks loaded with the concrete highway dividers in a 53 foot trailer and a sleeper no daycab. Also they will have you trained for your Hazmat, doulbles&triples , and tanker endorsement. I was impressed with the program after speaking to the Director and will be starting with them middle of June for a 4 week program.

You'll make way more then $3,800. And allot of companies pay you back for going to school

That's just retarded.
First schools can teach allot more then the basics most don't, but the good ones do
Second Watkins Shepard sends you out solo right out of school so you might wanna go to a good school
And yes it state law in allot of states that they teach you with loaded trailers

Glad to hear it. Bruce is an impressive guy. He was a safety director for many years with CF. He definitely knows his stuff. Plus he has a really nice looking bike............
