That killed me, too..that whole thing that since the load is only (whatever), not only will you save hundreds in fuel, but you can drive at a much higher speed, as well.... meaning you can deliver a day early, right?

my fuel cost is that much. lol... that's the only expense right????
-
Exactly!!
Silly, truck driver, don't you know with that 7k of crap you'll even cut down on trailer tire wear. Now let's see, decreased tire wear.... that should knock at least another $0.20/mi off the rate.
-
Right.... and less friction needed when braking, so you'll save on brake shoe wear....
-
Apparently.... that's all I can guess they're figuring...
Anything over fuel costs = PROFIT....
-
Ahhh.. now you're getting it... surely less brake wear should knock another $0.10/mi off...
-
So, you'll run that for .45 cpm? Can I fax you a confirmation sheet?
-
OMG thank you guys so much... I needed to laugh after today.
-
seriously though most people consider anything over ALL of their operating expenses as profit but in reality profit is only what is left over after your operating expenses AND your drivers wage.... otherwise you don't have a company you have a job you bought.Eskimo6804 Thanks this.
