I don't have a truck - I've driven for two owner ops (previously) and worked as a company/lease driver. I've been an expert witness for automotive cases (8,200 of them) since March 2001, but took off from June 2007 until 2 months ago to drive OTR, both as a team with my wife and lots of solo miles.

I've looked at towing, local driving, etc that would work around my schedule where I need Tue-Thu available for the lawfirm, but I miss driving OTR, and thought it'd be neat to relieve someone over the weekend while keeping their truck moving.

I could make, in 2-3 days of OTR, what I'd make in 4-5 days doing towing or local work.

Thanks Al... for the obvious... I kinda figured that... but what's he an expert witness of? Trucking? And is there that many cases out there to turn it into a business?

I've been asked about helping with accident cases - on the side of the truck driver - but I'd only be interested in owner/op cases, I think, since I know how companies push drivers and I'd be defending a "company" as well...

My expertise is the auto industry - service management, sales management, used car manager, and tech school instructor.

Right, but for example, if someone had a regular run, or somewhat regular that came through here, and they lived within 100-200 miles, I could swap out, finish the run, and they could be home for the couple of days.
