    I hate Al too.

His "truffle shuffle" is hands down the gayest thing I've ever seen,
and I spent several years working in the food service industry.

    Wait....

Ohhhh!! There's 2 L's in the last word of this thread's title.

    Never mind...

The supply and demand thing will always be the controlling factor in a free market. Yes it's a pet peeve of mine, - people hoping it will work some other way (like through cooperation) and being all down on people regarding it. It only makes sense to be down on the system if you don't like what you see. Or down on regulators and over regulators of that system. The free market is just there working as it does. And for the majority of citizens in any given country, it is the most rewarding of any system.

I'm not a know-it-all. I was just hoping to contribute to not having to run into this so often. Because like I said, running into it is a personal pet peeve of mine. Just maybe someone out there may read this and will gain an understanding. Perhaps they won't be frustrated and won't try to gain cooperation amongst carriers to raise their profit. We are the owners and management of separate competing businesses in a free market. A chance to gain directly from the other company is to take it out or buy it up.

Hahahaha... we finally got that call today. I guy desperately needed oilfield something or other moved from outside Chitown to WY. I quoted him HIGH lmao... I guess he needed it bad and ponied up only $100 short of my quote for us to run it straight through. I'm a little irked cause it's WY but it pays good enough to DH out to just about anywhere and still make us a nice profit.:biggrin_25525:

Too bad it it took a day and a half to get that call lmao

Why thank you. I'm sure none of us had ever heard of the free market system before you educated us. :biggrin_25525: Oh, c'mon and laugh.....I had to tease you a little bit.

Here's the deal person, we know that. We all understand fully about free enterprise, the free market system and supply vs demand. We're drivers not dummies. However, because we're human there are times we enjoy discussing (arguing, ranting, whining) certain situations.

But thank you again for that lovely lesson in economics. Could you perhaps explain it to Obama and perhaps let him and all the other politicians know whey we really don't wish to "outsource" trucking like all the other industries?:biggrin_25525:

ROFL Oh I doooooooo love that. Captain Obvious. LOL

In our family we all have super hero names and powers. Our older Grandson did that years ago and also our daughter and son in law with their friends.

I myself am simply Super Nana -- Good Queen of the World. My power is spoiling, fun and making people feel good about themself.

I do believe I may need to change My husband's name from Admiral Gloom and Doom to Captain Obvious. LOL ahahahhaa I shall submit it to the council.

Yes, Captain Obvious is the superhero in the rainbow-colored cape who runs in AFTER the discussion and restates everything that everyone already knew. He's been in many conversations... it's his job.
