Been with Schneider six months, all of it as western regional.
-
How do you like them...benifits ,hometime ect
-
Personally I think the benefits suck...but I've heard some others say they love them. I think it's a rip off having to pay close to a hundred bucks a week for my wife and I to have health insurance, especially when some weeks I only make about $350 after it's taken out. Hometime.....it's hit and miss. I signed up for western regional because I "should" have more hometime....right? Some times I can get to the house to do a 10 hour dot break two times a week, but that has become distant lately. Recently I've been out 4-5 weeks at a time, not by choice, it just takes them that long to eventually get you routed back to your home OC sometimes. I've also seen the trend of them sending me outside of the 11 western states for loads recently because there's no other freight in the area I'm in. Seams like as soon as they have me go into Texas lately it takes them about a week or more foe them to get me back I to the 11 western region.

seems like the freight out west is more wide open, where as Northeast Regional is so tight i would think(i have no clue) it wouldn't be so wide spread.More short trips then anything...
-
I have been running the Northeast and the loads are short, I have had some under 200 miles, almost all under 300.

wow huh,do the little extra's they claim to give for short hauls make it worth it?
