In this heat i will tell u what scares me , my son and grandson and his wife in a truck with only the air in the front of the cab and they are headed to florida and they have begged and begged for it to get fixed , the heat in that truck must be horriable!!!

Looking out the window of your truck and seeing a guy with an RPG pointing at you and knowing there is an IED and some of his friends around and there is know where to go and nothing you can do but hope he misses. Well it happened every day for 2 years and i survived so now there is very little that really scares me. As they say what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

That one night when I might be driving and my sleepiness gets ahead of me......that scares the hell out of me. I've seen too many trucking accidents that were caused by sleepiness/fatigue that it haunts me.
-
Well then ifn ya git to tired, stop the #### truck, and git some sleep!!!
That load is REPLACEABLE, You are'nt!!! It also can always be reschedualed for delivery. -
Y'er kiddin me! I never a'thought to pull over and "git" some sleep when I wuz tired, cuz I jess drive till I pass out.
Sorry for the sarcasm, but I mean times that even to the best of your ability, going on big long open stretches of road with next to no shoulder, sometimes throw bad weather/snow into the mix, etc and there are situations where you bite your lip and chug on until you can pull over and rest in a safe spot no matter how tired you think you are.
Team driving means we have to keep truckin' to the best of our ability and I always have. I've never ignored sleepiness--This fear of falling asleep behind the wheel just comes to mind after having seen some real life spectacular accidents where fatigue was the culprit and loss of life was the result and sometimes not only for the driver...I do take this very seriously. -
When I see a truck swerving all over the place it is 1 or 2 things. A tired driver or a swift driver!
-
I have pulled into a rest area, or a get on ramp to catch a combat nap while still sitting behind the wheel. Most of the time this occurs at zero-dark-thirty in the morning and I usually find myself parked behind another truck sitting there with their lights on. As I doze off sometimes I'll wake up and see the tail lights of that trailer about three feet in front of me. OMG!!! Instant Fright!!! I'm all over the brake and fighting the wheel, only to realize, hey, I'm parked. Too late. The heart is pounding.
