I guess running the western states we pretty much know all the places we want to stop at!
It will be different when we go back OTR!

Pocket truck stop guide. $3.95 has all trk stops and even has the rest areas in them now.
-
JJ downloaded some truck stop guide on his phone its pretty cool even tells ya the wally worlds that let trucks in!
-
I like the pocket guide. Has allot of info, but not too much.
Shows the name, exit number, how large the lot is S,M,L if they have a scale, maintenance facility etc. Plus has all the rest areas.
It is broken down by state and interstate. Also other highways.
Another thing I like is that it shows the full miles of each interstate. So if I-80 goes thru the state for 200 miles. It tells you. -
i was using droidtruckers. shows the big chains and weigh stations. based on your gps location.
heading out tonight sometime for tucson. don't know where i be camping just yet. but i guess i should wait for page to open up so i can buy a oversized permit before driving down the state of arizona.
packing 60 ft. rebar. -
guess i need to learn my routing. truckmiles.com practical route shaved 90 miles off what 4 different gps programs routed as practical.
gps had 30 miles difference between shortest and practical. (fastest)
even google and mapquest pulled up the same route as gps fastest. -
ok rookie needs some advise, came down to Phoenix from Salt Lake via the I-15/US-20/US-89/I-17 route. looks like I am heading back that way (with a stop at home planned) and was wondering, US-89 or Alt US-89? US-89 is pretty(steep) and a good view(of a narrow raod with no stops) but is Alt US-89 as bad?
For those whom don't know or can't remamber my choises are Bitter Springs, AZ to Kanab, UT but Page, AZ or no?
Thanks yall -
Us 89 is best route I haven't seen a truck go down the alt us 89 they all make that turn
-
brother in law says he did phoenix to salt lake in 10 hours taking the 89A over into hurrican then up the `15. sprint nav says it's 30 miles shorter but don't kknow where it jumps off at.
might take that road. delivered in tucson and now i waiting to get loaded in phoenix going to salt lake. would like to find a path with less hills. them arizona mountains is starting to get old., -
