In Columbia NJ tonight at the TA.
First drop in monday at 0100 in Providence, RI.
    No essa problema.
I wonder sometimes if the weekend crew reads their own QCs.
Got a standard message today: You are on a meatload....are you going to deliver on time?
I respond, Yes. Will deliver on time.
Then the message: When you receive your load, be prepared to run immediately as far as you can to ensure an ontime delivery.
I respond back: I already have 517 miles on this load. did I miss something?
Response: Ignore the first message. you're fine.
Three hours later, same message: Are you on time?
Respond again. Yes. On time for monday delivery.
Another hour later: Have you left yet. you have passed your DLD.
Now I decided it was time for fun.
"Just left. Should be in Amarillo tomorrow"
Haven't heard a thing from them since.

That's classic! Makes one wonder what's in the water in Dallas.

Weekend crew, got to love them, or else we would drive the truck and trailer through the building.
I always give them a long answer to say yes...
Classic one was, I had left Salt lake city at Midnight, arrived in Laramie about 7 am, and stopped for breakfast with friends, delivered in Denver at 11 am, when I get back to the truck, have the message, are you rolling yet? My answer, Nope thought I would hang out here with friends all day. Is that a problem?

    Never heard from them again.

Setting just south of the quad cities tonight, watching the thunderstorms pop and pop,

Ran I84 to I81 to get down to hershey PA, 15 miles farther, but I did not have to deal with New York and New Jersey Traffic, or tolls. Spent last night at the new stanton service plaza, over in the newer truck parking, about 50 spaces, and only 5 trucks there the whole night. Listened to the birds with the vents open all night, no squealing fan belts from needless idling trucks. Was debating about running I80 again, or running a different route, but not wanting to run through towns with 43,000 in the box.. hurts fuel mileage too much. For an extra 30 miles, I ran I70 to I74 to I80... no tolls, and some different scenery.

As I approached Indy, and saw the clouds building, I started to wonder about my decision, as the sky watch vans and the satellite trucks went racing past me. Just some pea size hail so far...

At "The Only TA Truck Stop in Rhode Island" today.
Been here before. Doesn't look like anything changed, including the cook's apron.
Get to navigate the dark streets of Chelsea tomorrow night for my last drop.
Oh boy! Driving those streets and turning those corners feels like you're pulling an aircraft carrier behind you.
At least the drunks will be entertaining.
Leave for my first drop in Providence in a couple hours.
The real trick will be finding a place to do my ten after my 0600 drop tomorrow morning in Tauton.
Boston is like LA... no place to park.
Nice weather tho. Reminds me of Tillamook.

Good one TL. Seems they use the "ready, fire, aim" approach regarding the QC.

Corporal, I'm glad you're okay. Reports are 75% of Joplin is wiped out. I saw a picture of the J. Devastating. It's going to be another two days of high risk weather. Everyone be careful.
