I have no idea what the actual percentage is but I probably see 20 Knight trucks for every Squire truck I see. I have heard that they are no longer putting Squire drivers into Squire trucks - they're going into Knight-labeled trucks from their eventual home division. So if you see a Knight it could be a Squire in disguise. :p Better that way I think - no reason to make every Squire driver explain "well it's the training division..."

Where was it at? Just curious.

I totally agree with you. I imagine if you had run out there screaming "WHOA WHOA WHOA STOP OMG WAT R U DOING" he probably would have stopped and listened and learned a lesson. Everyone does stupid stuff when they're new, or are in a situation they haven't been in before, regardless of what company you work for.

It's entirely possible there wasn't a trainer. You're out with your trainer for 4-6 weeks and then you may end up in a Squire truck by yourself for an additional 90 days before you "graduate" to Knight.

Please tell me how I can help someone that STOPPED on the tracks, then put it in R? I could get out, which would make him stop, ON THE TRACKS, honk my horn, which would ONCE AGAIN make him stop on the tracks, or I could sit there, let him get off the tracks then inform him he is a dumbdumb?

Sometimes not causing a scene is the best way.

I'm sure you would agree that someone stopping on tracks needs to get off said tracks ASAP.

My husband and I started driving together back in 2005. I got off the truck to raise a grandson husband ended up finding a local job but because of the bad economy and getting laid off he went back to driving. Ended up at Knight transportation. Not a good experience all the way around. Payroll sucks, it was like pulling teeth to get reimbursed for scale tickets. He was getting ripped off really bad until I got on the planetknight web site and looked through every single pay stub. It was a nightmare dealing with those idiots. I ended up riding with him for several months at which time we traveled from the west to the east and the south. Ended up at many different Knight terminals. It is one of the worst for being driver friendly. It is one of the worst for pay. It's sliding scale they say they'll pay you so much a mile and then it's up to them whether they pay you 35 cents a mile or 28 cents a mile. You can not count on a certain amount. their stupid little bonus pay is nothing more than a joke. Do not ever purchase a light bulb because you wont be reimbursed. Most terminals don't carry those things so if your rolling out there and a fuse or light burns out to bad for you. If your steer tires need replaced be prepared to have used ones put on your truck. Asked for new wipers, never happened. Ended up in those nasty storms that came threw the west coast back in Nov, and Dec. Try seeing out your windshield when your wipers are wired on with wire. ( this was actually done by the shop at one of the terminals) What a joke. Be prepared to set for days. they will try to get away without paying you lay over pay. To make a long story short I spent months getting my husbands pay straightened out. Little hint for all who are fairly new to Knight the squeaky wheel gets the grease. It wasn't to long before Husbands dispatch figured out that he wasn't going to set for free or that they could rip him off on his pay. I was on the phone right away when I noticed something wasn't right pay wise. Husband quit Knight a few months ago and we haven't been Happier. A person shouldn't have to work twice for their pay check. There are better companies to work for and of course worse, but I personally would never work for Knighttrans not a driver friendly company at all.

You are a 100% correct when you say Knight wants their drivers to work for free. Anyone who's says anything different either has no driving experience with any other company or just wants to argue.

Somebody needs to save them!!! I dislike seeing a newbie get stuck with a company like knight it has a tendency to ruin a new driver when they work for a crap company. I've spoken to a many a Knight driver and there is maybe one out of every 50 that is okay with knight. The rest of them want to leave but hate orientation and getting use to a new dispatch so they just hold on as long as they can. Anyone who's been driving truck for very long knows how bad it sucks to start all over again with a new company, However in my opinion it's worth the hassle to get away from Swifts little brother. UGH!!!!!! We can talk about changing the rules all you want but when it comes down to it, it's the fact that drivers all don't stick together and say enough and quit taking crap from these companies. I've seen it a many a time. Drivers who switch jobs often have no home and no where to go if they don't stay with the company. they feel like they are not allowed to speak out because if they lose their job then they will be penniless and homeless. Sounds like you like Knight and good for you, but you can't expect those who don't to agree with your perception of Knight transportation.

Agree a 100% why would anyone want to work twice for the same paycheck. Of course if you look at it from the companies perspective they make thousands on drivers who don't pay attention to their pay stubs online.

I can not figure out the pay stub. My husband was told he would get $00.28 per mile, has not gotten that yet!!!!
He has not been home yet for a requested time off, he always gets in 2-3 days after requested time, consequently missing a special function, Birthdays, Mother's day etc. He has put requests in 2 weeks in advance, they just ignore it and do what they want.

Often they send him out about 400 miles and then let him sit for 24 hours, stating they can't find him a load. For the time he is out and the amt, of hours he is "on duty" he gets paid "chicken ####'!

I told him he could stay home and work Mc Donald's!!
