Yes. Tow bills are high for trucks and the boss doesnt want to pay. People do that with pick up trucks too, I have also. Rear end goes out or you lose a shaft, put it in 4WD and you drive with the front instead. Youll be alright.

That didn't work. Truck lost all air pressure immediately and brakes engaged

Get away from that company. If they are too cheap to do proper payroll, they are going to eventually start nickle and diming you for truck repairs.

Bet when you blew the driveline out, you got some of your air lines as well

The driveline could go out because of drivers. If they start out and rev the engine while letting the clutch out you can put too much torque to the driveline. Or a driver goes too fast and pulls the parking brake. Or too much torque is applied when testing the trailer if it's hooked. They can blam you sure. Just tell them you were easy on the drive line everytime you started out and you never put alot of torque on the driveline. With an auto it should be easy but they can tell with the OBC if you start at a high RPM. They do wear out and the first sign is movement on the driveshaft. But you can also tell when the mirrors are shaking more than normal. But be prepared, all shops always blame the driver.

In all honesty I would never blame a driver for a yoke that turns out completely missing. Not to say his boss wont. A U-Joint should be the weaker of the parts in this case. Even if the yoke broke, it would still be there but with some broken ears on it. I doubt this is a case of driver abuse. It sounds more like problems with maintenance.

So they're stealing money from you and they put you in poorly maintained equipment. Nothing good will come from you staying with this company.

Yep. Been there, done that. Almost exactly the same situation. You are going to get burned.
