I had a fun morning.
Got up and had to start my day at 0700. Went to Erie and got loaded with scrap cardboard.
Then had to drive back home, get in my car and go to Dr. Office to do my DOT physical. Passed that with flying colors.
Then drive all the way past the shipper again while getting the load down the road. But they could not load me after 1400, so I had to go and get it early and run 100 extra loaded miles to hit the house again lol.
Now I am 100 miles away from receiver, but no truckstops between here and right near them. And no way I could have found parking there at 2030.
Load out of receiver tomorrow and only going 380 miles for a Wed delivery. So no issue anyway.

Obviously not in a governed truck. Most you can drive in a day is 14 hours. 81/14=57.929 average. Wow, were you strapped with a cowboy's friend or what?
-
ummm... most you can actually be driving is 11 hours

which would average out to 73 MPH
-
nevermind, I see where you get the 14 from, forgot about that!!

Delivered to Ralphs in Compton CA yesterday talk about a cluster **** appointment was for 12.00 arrived a lil early told to park somewhere and come back in an hr...did that go back to the gate and get in line and wait for the renta cop to check us in that hmmm 55 mins so that put us at the app time finally sent to the waiting area get parked and wait another 2hrs, finally get a door break the seal back in and wait and wait and wait, got outta there at 2000
so we were about 5hrs late for our pick up at vernon cold storage, told to park against the fence there and they would take us when they could as we were now considered a work in now finally finished getting loaded at 0300 this morning.
Yesterday just sucked!! -
yesterday i got loaded in phoenix. was 15000 light. swift got loaded and was 5000 heavy. office switched our papers. had to be reloaded with the proper load.
why can't i have a day where i get unloaded, and reloaded before afternoon. instead of screwing around all day for the load. and having to drive all night.
unloaded at 9 this morning. it's 3 p.m. i sit in plymouth. too heavy. 81,000 lbs. on quarter tank of fuel.
missoula, mt. wants this load asap but i can't leave untill 10 pm. 3 scales that will all be open and i'm oversized.
what's the max gross for the steers? dot told me couple years back 20,000 on the superwides but i've got skinnies.
if you all want to get technical. my truck is goverend at 68. gps clocks me at 70. times 11 hours. makes 770 miles. throw in the 10. that leavess 3 hours left. times 70 makes 210 miles plus 770 equals a grand total of 980 miles.
i've been averaging 3700 miles a week. wished i got paid by the mile. instead of by the load. -
Yeah, I have never done exactly 14, but close on a couple of occasions. Makes a real long day

Looks like its Oklahoma's turn to get hammered. Got on I 40 at mm 108 and in 8 miles, drove thru a debris field, lots of trees uprooted, 3 semis on there sides, with one that had its tlr ripped off and tlr was lieing in the field. 6 or 7 cars over turned, and there was a fire going to the north of I 40. Storm is going right up I 35, I 44, and is crossing I 40. Have shut down in OKC and going to wait an hr or so before heading out again. Hopefully, I 40 will be clear by then.
