For the record snakes are drawn by certain vibration and heat, but the scent/taste of fumes would most likely drive them off.

Yes sir, I can't count how many sand or acid truck guys I've talked to that was parked on location for 24-48hr before being able to unload.
And if your boss says easy job...this is a clue to load up on food as well lol it never fails, something always goes wrong. I was on location once for about 4hrs waiting on something to happen. Then all of a sudden the entire crew packed up and left without saying a word. I got bored and decided to drive down to the local truck stop and get some cokes etc. As I was about to leave this tanker truck hauling gel pulls up asking me why is everyone leaving. I told him what I knew and then he said they called him up and wanted their gel ASAP. The guy didn't have a chance to pick up any food. Thankfully he caught me before I left. I told him I would grab him something. As I pulled up to the truck stop I found out where the crew ran off to. It seems the well head was leaking and needed replaced which was going to take a couple of hours.Attack Thanks this. -

Ya, those "easy" jobs were the killer. I got dispatched to new mexico on saturday not, got to the well and saw everyone packing up and leaving. I asked what the deal was and got told that it was super bowl sunday and the guys wanted to watch the game and they'd be back monday morning. That's when I decided to go back to a belly dump, flip a switch and I'm gone. Also.... On a lot of locations, the briscoe ranch especially DON'T RUN OVER THE SNAKES! I ran over a 6' rattle snake in the road and the company man told me I had damages the wildlife and would be fined!
