Well I am getting my first truck and I am looking at a volvo 670 with a D12. Why?.. it does great with fuel. I dont really have too many questions other than something I have been looking everywhere for and cant find info on it. As far as the exhaust system goes (and truck in general) I want to customize it. I have been looking for a dual exhaust system but cant find anything? its a volvo but I want it loud..lol already found other things such as the bumber and visor i want.. does anyone know of any dual exhaust systems for a volvo 670? thanks for any info...

Are you serious?
Why are you worried about a dual exhaust, visor and other customizations? Will any of those earn you more money?
Just curious.
-
your going to need all that money you wanna spend on loud pipes and a visor to pay for all the break downs on the POS volvo engine!

I sure don't think Volvo d12's are good on fuel.
-
My D12 is averaging 5.3 mpg.... Is that great? Cause my Pete 379 with the big ol' Kitty Cat motor was averaging 5.6.
You can put lip stick on a pig also.... But it is still a pig regardless how many times you kiss & pork it.
Because there isn't any.
Don't worry... It'll be loud when #### breaks....
Info? Yeah! Save your money for repairs. You'll need it! Just in the past 13 months, I have spent 25 grand just on repairs..................
And I ain't done! -
Well glad to see some drivers had some 2 cents to put in on this thread. There are a few things though after reading the replies I got.
Repairs? Yes I believe I know about that route. I have spent plenty of repair time on my down time.
And yes. If I had a volvo engine they suck and and difficult to get repaired however the D12 does get great mpg. I know this from experience.
And the addons I was originally asking about. Yeah I would like my truck to look nice and stand out from all the other everyday crap we see. If nobody believed in custom bumber, visors, or exhaust, we would not see the awesome looking rigs we have today.
My biggest bill is my cell phone. I am not worried about making a million dollars. I simply was asking if anyone has seen a volvo with a dual exhaust system. simple right?. lmao guess not.
Thanks anyways... -
Another thing... they should be cheaper to buy due to the Volvo motor. That will also translate into a lower price when selling or trading.
You've been given some pretty sage advice here. Although some sounded a bit harsh, only good intentions were intended.
As far as the dual exhaust, if you can't find what you're looking for, just head to an exhaust shop and make your own. Even better, just buy the necessary pipes, clamps and such and do it yourself.Vampire Thanks this. -
You ain't got much experience do you? I know from experience & the pain of having to buy my own fuel that the D12 sucks when it comes to fuel mileage. -
Hey REDD, tell him about the repairs you went through last week on your volvo ?
-
Last week was a new turbo & exaust manifold gasket. Just a little over 3 grand. 2 days in a hotel & a total of 5 days down losing freight & revenue.
Last month it was the radiator, ac condensor, fan blade, transmission cooler lines, cab blower motor, alternator (<---- Twice), evac & recharge the A/C unit, grill screen, 10 new tires, & fan clutch solenoid.
Then I have also replaced both egr valves at $1500 a valve not counting labor. (EGR valves go out once a year on these trucks) & the EGR cooler at a price tag of $2500 just for the part.... Labor is extra. Camshaft, injector lifters at $4300, And ####...... The list is so long I forget everything I've done over the past 13 month..... Oh yeah, the air compressor also.... At a $1000 price tag without labor.
But he's got plenty of experience.... Let him do it. Let him fail misserably.Vampire, Jarhed1964, SHC and 3 others Thank this.
