Yea they are purty lol. The day cab I have now looks like its been beat to hell. Really makes me wonder about the previous drivers. 46k lbs balanced in a flat top? You must have been out of CA
. I know what its like to run like that, and its a pain in the butt. I had to run half tanks or less on about 60% of my loads with my previous carrier.
Idle time with schneider??

I started mid September last year and got prorated 4th Qtr bonus so that may be account dependent

Like 90% or more of all of the Schneider tractors I've seen are beat up or damaged one way or another. I know why they don't fix them because in the end it costs them money to do so....but dayyymn its embarrassing sometimes driving a beat down rig lol. Schneider obviously has no intention on having professional looking equipment or trying to fix/maintain them that way

SNI has ALWAYS since the beging of their existance had the cheapest trucks on the road. They also continued to run Cabover long after most companies switched to conventionals (my guess is because demand of them dropped they became much cheaper)
as per SNI's website 370HP Detroits.
1. My F-250 Superduty has more HP then that
2. Detroits are the most useless thing ever installed in a truck (dont feel bad i have one too)

Why would you say that? I've never had problems with DD-60's. Plenty of pulling power, but no "race car" speed. Decent on fuel, rarely a breakdown. Were I the one buying the truck, I sure as hell wouldn't be putting a CAT in it...... unless I owned an oil company. CAT's are brutally powerful, but the one I ran at TMC sucked fuel faster than I suck coffee. -
Detroits are Top end engines. They have NO bottom end power, and since companies want MPG's and often govern the RPM's to where you cant get to the power band. They are decent on fuel though.
I agree if im a company driver I love cats, but if i were to by a truck it will have a Cummins. 1000 times better then a Detroit.

Its funny to see you guys complaining about the trucks. When I started with Schneider in 1993, they assigned me a 1984 International Cabover. The sleeper was a single, which means it was slightly larger than me. Forget standing up, the only time I stood up was when I got out of the truck.
Oh, there was no air ride either. Or cruise control. Or Jake Brake. Haha man that was a bad truck. New drivers have it a lot better these days than I did. I barely even had A/C, and a 300 HP Cummins with a turbo that barely worked. See a hill coming? Start dropping gears. Thought about putting the Schneider Orange duct-tape over the headlights so the truck wouldnt see the hills.chalupa Thanks this. -
LOL. Sometimes it feels more like 400 hp in a day cab, untill i pull a hill with 10000 lbs or more in the box
-
Very true. My Series-60 loses it around 1300 rpm and pulls strong at 1500 and above. I haven't felt the experience of a Cat, but I do prefer Cummins over DD.AF461 Thanks this.
