Les... it's whatever. I'm way too lazy to go back quoting what you said and plus I've had a lot more sleep since the last 2 days. I took what you were saying as dogging on us. We work hard to not contribute to the cheap freight epidemic. We've DH 700-1000mi out of an area. Yeah we coulda taken that $1.10/mi and if would've covered fuel and a few other things but it would be us compromising on what we feel as right. We've chosen to lose money running empty versus losing money hauling someone's cheap crap. I'm subject to getting bent over anything at anytime... ask DirkI believe you may be right that sometimes things get lost in translation through typing rather than talking.
Now that being said, I have a question for you. What in the hell is that thing you're calling a swing set? That is not a swing set... that's a hotel room missing a bed and room service.
I Hate You All!

Ooooh I love that... that's another of my favorites. They list 40ft, 38k.... PARTIAL.... yeah.. ok buddy. -
That's my point... they aren't factoring everything or they have very poor math skills and a dishonest calculator. -
The way I see it...The Bottom-feeders and the Broker-thieves need each other....They "Dance the dance" as it were....
The Bottom-feeders seek the lowest rates possible thinking if they do take the lowest possible rates...they'll do two things....
- Take the loads from everyone else...
- Always stay busy....
The broker-thieves seek to pay the least amount and the Bottom-feeders almost guarantee that goal....wheathauler and Les2 Thank this. -
How do you tell the difference between a broker thief and a good broker?
I always look at it as a business deal. If I take a load that a broker keeps 50% of his rate and I am loosing money then I am a bad business person. Like wise if a broker takes loads that pay cheap and he spends his day finding some fool to run at a loss or has to did into his pocket to get load covered, then he is also a bad business person.
And what do you think happens if we had no brokers? Or place regulation? -
I'm the same way, I'll DH past a cheap load to a better paying one just on principle alone. Heck I've DH'ed out of the Carolina's and eastern VA before just cause I won't haul cheap. I'm not a charity!
Alot of newer and some older O/O have had it beat into their heads that if they have a load on the trailer they are making money. IMO I think thats why alot of them fail.
That just reminded me of the load Friday...
Huntington, WV to Tipton, PA with a S/O paying 5k...... The S/O was in colorado. -

Ronin! I was totally waving at you as I crossed the Bexar County line earlier. Got zero time to spare on this run but I wanted to make sure you remember I've got a standing order of a really good cupcake delivered the next time.
