We have an entire forum dedicated to discussing the bad deeds of trucking companies here:
http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/report-a-bad-trucking-company-here/
Please allow drivers this place to discuss other aspects of the company.Dennis the Menace, BBradUMA, jatwell and 2 others Thank this. -
Yikes, that isn't good. Was he having problems with shifting?
-
I'm not sure exactly. I just know he tried several times and they sent him home

Yall have fun with orientation lol I'm out on the road with my instructor now. Don't get comfortable on the simulators, they are nothing like a real truck. The truck is awesome to drive. Maybe not down I83 in the dark through construction zones, an accident, all she being tailgated and cut off.... loaded at over 77,000 pounds... did I mention the hills? Lol I had never driven a truck until last week....

Although his tone is negative, and is kind of off topic... He does have the right to comment about Prime's orientation.
He did, at one time, attend Prime's orientation.
This is the Good & Bad Trucking Company section... I would say this section falls into the in-between catagory... It is not the Disscuss your Favorite Trucking Company section nor the Report a Bad Company section.notarps4me Thanks this. -
Good! Be proud! You made the cut, and are seeing if you can make the grade. I am sure you will. BTW - I was born and spent my childhood in Portsmouth, NH. Accidentally ended up downtown there in the truck once... big mistake! What part of our great Granite State are you from?

Well, Hubby made it through the orientation and will be heading out sat night/ sun morning. He's heading down to Texas. Now the worrying can begin LoL.

Today was the big day! Friday, you head out and do a couple more classes then head out to the pad to practice some driving. Shortly afterwards we gathered up in the conference room and were paired up with trainers. Rather, four or five of us did. Yeah, the rest of us are left behind to do more practice runs out on the pad.
It's fine, though, as the trainers will trickle in through the week and hopefully by Friday next week we'll all be gone. My roommate was in the same situation, from last week's class, and is leaving tonight. Awesomeness.
One thing I can say is talk talk talk to the drivers. Both on the company side and the leasing side. They have lots of advice, are willing to share as long as you listen, and full of hilarious stories. So I'm still stuck between going lease or company driver later down the road after seeing a driver's new rig he just purchased.
