Benifits at TMC

    I am a newbie to trucking. I am 49 looking for a second career.
    I am thinking about TMC and was wondering if anyone could tell me if the benifit package is good. Also, I am wondering if it is possible to stay out longer and acumulate days off, like a weeks worth and take them all together? I want to be busy and am looking for a company that will be straight with me. I am leaving the insurance business because I am sick of being BS'ed. If anyone has an opinion I am grateful to hear it.

    Looking at TMC myself. If you go through the threads you will find almost all the answers to your questions as far as pay and benefits. You can also talk to a recruiter, mine was very down to earth and when asked some probbing questions that I already knew the answer to, he would always give the sales pitch answer but then follow it up with the down to earth realistic. So yes he is a recruiter but was straight up with me. I'm also looking at McElroy trucking, looks like good pay and a much smaller company. I'm so confused.. so many jobs and so much to figure out. You figure who ever you pick you should try to stay with for at least a year and it is so hard to make that decision of who to go with and who to believe, I tried selling life insurance for a month and hated it. So I feel your pain. Please keep me posted on your decisions and how everything is going!!

    Thx for responding...It is nice to hear from a fellow recovering Insurance Agent. I was hoping to hear about someones actual experience using the benefits at TMC. I sold health coverage and learned that what they promise and what they pay are almost always two different things. One thing about selling Life coverage is at least when its time to make a claim your client can't complain anymore! I am also looking into Anderson now, they have a high starting pay and have gotten good comments on this site. I will also look at McElroy...Thx for the tip and I will keep you posted on what happens.
