1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I have 4 years OTR; team and solo with 2 companies. I left both for pushing me to run against DOT regs. No one will make me break the law! I left both with 2 week notices.

I had plans to take a couple months off, help my disabled parents out then get back into a truck. An old boss found out I was in town tracked me down and offered me an old security job back just as the economy was crashing. I took it, that was 3 years ago and I'm still working there.

My parents are now selling the property I'm living on and I'm ready to back to trucking.

    About me:

33yr old single man. I run hard. Non-smoker. No pets. Clean cut. I take pride in my ride and appearance - me and my trucks are always showered and looking professional. I have current HAZMAT on my license. I have no kids or family so staying out on the road long times is preferred.

I have NEVER been late outside of breakdowns or other uncontrolled problems. NEVER had a DUI (never even had to take a sobriety test). NEVER failed a drug test at any time for any reason. NEVER been arrested or charged with a crime (One of my references is a 13 year police officer Ive known for 20+ years).

I will only take a solo job as I want time with the truck stopped for exercising and hygiene; and at least 2500+ miles a week average. I prefer 48 state driving as I love to see new things all the time. All my driving was with 53' dry vans but I'm willing and eager to learn new things.

I live in a 'hard to get home' area in the extreme NW CA area (Crescent City). I'm fine with making whatever arrangements I need to to get myself home from a terminal. My last job was 1200 miles from home to terminal and I was fine with that.

If you made it this far thanks for reading all of this.

Im in a rural area in northern California. I still can't find anyone that will take me. I have no ties here. I don't rent or own anything, I have no family except for my elderly parents. I can fit most of what I own in my small pickup.

But because of the location of the PO Box I use I keep getting turned down by every company. Now the property I'm staying on is going up for sale and I'll be homeless at the end of June with no where to go.

My location (that could be changed at the drop of a hat) and my time out of a truck are killing me. I had an easier time finding a trucking job when I didn't have a CDL and I used this address.

What I would suggest to you is, go to your nearest Fedex Linehaul Term and apply for a linehaul driver position. You would need to see if you can pass their minimum requirements to drive. If you can, your file can be transferred anywhere in the system. I would not have you travel all the way to Georgia just to be turned down. If you do meet the requirements then they will give you a FEDEX ID number. Once you have that then I can request to transfer your file.

I have a 2001 International 9400i with a 53' reefer ready to go. Its in New Jersey, so it depends where you are at now, may be able to get you a flight. We hire company drivers so we pay .40 a mile, and .45 for flatbed drivers. If your interested message me.
