    Anyone know anything about them?

    Their website seems rather vague.

I knew a couple of guys that ran for them years ago when I still lived in MD ('04-'05-ish)... they were happy, claimed to be making good money, but this would've been pre-recession. They also were home a few nights a week and every wknd... so mainly doing regional Northeasterly work.

Gee... now that I've put that down... I guess actually I know diddly squat about them... :biggrin_25512:

Ya know... there was an ad on Craigslist... find Al. He posted it (many moons ago) and said a google search of the number came back to an escort service (pervy kind, not OD kind) in KY... well just cuz I'm like that, I called it. I think the lady was a recruiter for Mawson and Mawson.... the ad sounded very good... like big money if I remember right.

Ahhhh.... scratch that... now that I'm thinking harder I think the lady was a recruiter for Mason Dixon because my searching took me here...

Ya know... I'm just gonna go away now... I'm back to my original thought of I know nothing and have nothing of value to add...

From what little contact I've had with them, my impression is they hit a lot of steel mills in the triangle from Rockport, IN to Chicago to Pittsburgh, although I did load with a couple in Birmingham. The ones I've talked to seemed fairly happy, but they'd all been there for years. Seems like they're almost exclusively covered wagon. I just looked up their safety rating, it looks like they're much better than when I looked at them a couple of years ago, it was pretty bad, and it's still slightly worse than average.

whatever you do, dont go to mason dixon, their agents would rather broker loads than give them their own trucks. had the sav,ga agent tell me directly (while i was leased there) that she and i were competing for the same freight, she made more money if she brokered the load than by giving it to a mason dixon truck. rates arent posted openly, you have to call the agent direct, so not hard to figure that one out.

and mawson and mawson is primarily covered wagons, run heavy most of the time

The covered wagon don't scare me. Apparently they have terminals all around me. Birmingham, South Carolina, & a few in Tennessee.
