Well, my old company called me up and offered me my old dedicated run i was doing, at my same old rate (not the CUT rate i was told last month they were switching to) plus they are gonna throw in $100 a week on the rate and pay me my bobtail miles from home to pick-up and back (roughly 400 miles) so I am gonna head back, as it is very light load down (4,500 lbs) and empty back. 2,700 miles round trip, and 4 day work weeks...... god I am so glad this came back.

That's great. Timing was good too as you were getting restless with your present situation.

Nice! I love to see it when a situation like that turns around positive. it's hard to stick to your position and vote with your feet the way you did. It's a risky move, but my experience has been when done under the right circumstances it can be rewarding - just more likely opening a new opportunity versus bringing an old one back. Glad to hear that worked out.

is their a guarantee on how long it will last this time? something to consider.

might disappear just as quickly again, and by the way , what product is it thats so light, a tanker correct?

it is a dry-bulk tanker and the product is almost lighter than air. The tanker, full of product (all 4 compartments of the J&L) weighs under 15,000 lbs (product weighs 4,500 and tank is 10,500) and I come back empty. This is great in the summer, but terrible in the winter time. Just got to take it slow and easy

The gurrantee is for the next 2yrs they have the contract. Then, it will be time to go thru this all again. Luckily, they have been doing this dedicated run since 1988.

I'm just glad they appreciated my service and loyalty to them and found out that it's hard to get a good driver on a run. Not to mention that the plant manager where I deliver to personally ASKED for me back. Guess the last 2 guys over the past month screwed it all up and he's frustrated :biggrin_25516:

Should be good. I'll keep you all posted
