Not sure about that, my experiance with shared exhausts comes marine engines were its a big no no.
I didnt say it couldnt make you sick, I simply pointed out that diesel fumes dont contain much carbon monoxide.

Yes, and indeed APU exhaust is deadly. Two drivers were found dead in the past month here in the USA still lying in their bunks, Cause of death was determined to be CO poisioning via APU exhaust. Please Tee into your stack or stacks to vent fumes above cabs..

Two engines can exhaust through the same pipe of both open ends point the same direction. I have been running a 3406E & a Powertech with both breathing out the same stack for over a year now with no problems. The Powertech exhaust is a sweep 90 in the right hand side of the "Y" pipe & points to the open end.

I'd wonder about the two together we tape the exhaust pipe's when hauling equiptment something about the air going back thru the eng and the turbo spinning

Only an idiot will believe that exhaust fumes from any engine is harmless. Carbon monoxide poisoning is serious stuff....
Carbon monoxide poisoning Comprehensive overview covers symptoms, treatment, prevention of this deadly danger.
Definition
Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless and tasteless gas. Too much carbon monoxide in the air you breathe can greatly diminish your ability to absorb of oxygen, leading to serious and potentially fatal tissue damage. Carbon monoxide poisoning is a leading cause of unintentional death from poison.
Carbon monoxide is produced by appliances and other devices that produce combustion fumes, such as those that burn gas or other petroleum products, wood and other fuels. The danger occurs when too much carbon monoxide accumulates in a contained, poorly ventilated space. Simple precautions can save your life.
Although the signs of carbon monoxide poisoning can be subtle, the condition is a life-threatening medical emergency. Get immediate care for anyone who may have carbon monoxide poisoning.
Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning may include:
- Dull headache, the most common early symptom
- Weakness
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Chest pain
- Confusion
- Irritability
- Impaired judgment
- Loss of consciousness
It is a OOS infraction to have a exhaust leak, ever wonder why ?
Do any of you remember having a grass-burner parked necked to you at night ? Wake up at 3 am with a massive headache, can't breath because your sleeper is full of fumes ?
I have a APU and I had a custom exhaust made $100 that runs under my 5th wheel plate to the back of the truck... Not only does it redirect the exhaust, but a noise as well. -
What gauge metal are those Tri-Pac exhaust tips?
I have visions of taking a big pliers and folding the tip over on itself and thereby having the motor come to a choking halt in short order.
Just haven't tried it yet.
What is it with these guys that can't be in a truck for 5 minutes without having some sort of engine running?
And they say trucking ain't for sissies. -
I'm resting at home now but went via ambulance early Friday morning to er. I told them I possibly had co2 poisoning. I did. All the classic symptoms to boot. My blood carbon level was 8.3. I was an hour or so they say from not ever waking up. I'm feeling better but completely disconnected. I don't dare walk out onto the front deck. Too unstable on my feet. Everything I look at has a blur trail. Don't know what is going to happen at this point as far as work goes. My wife says something has changed. I don't act normal. Real slow. Its very sad.

The trucks with weed burner exhaust doing a regen are nasty to park by, youll get a headache in no time.

To those wanting to add extensions to their APU's, good idea, just remember to take back pressure into consideration. Consider using a larger diameter pipe with as few bends as possible.

I had a Carrier APU with the same situation. Bought a section of 1.5" flex pipe at O'Reilley Auto Parts. It reached out past the fairing and I angled it to the back. I supported the extra length by using some pipe strapping to fasten it to the support for the fairings.
