So I guess the honeymoon is over...My truck has developed several problems. Wipers, engine, cruise, etc. I have posted several videos on you tube and would invite other Cascadia owners to have a look and post any comments you have if you have seen the same problems. I am trying to video all the issues as they come up and post them for discussion.
Thank you!!

It's a freightliner.... Built in Mexico... It's gonna have many many many many issues.
-
Its actually a Cleveland built truck, a loaded owner op spec truck. I'm hoping its not indicative of how its gonna be for its whole life, if it is, ill go back to an older 07 or earlier Classic, I had way less problems with my 05 Classic. Too bad you can't get the same mpg! Cascadia is awesome on fuel.

You were better off with a VOLVO
-
Definetly not with the Volvo, Have a friend with a 780, D13, 2008. Its been a nightmare, always on the hook almost has him broke. Minbe hasn't seen the hook and the glitches so far have been very intermittant, that being the problem. I was hoping somebody else mighthave had the same problems and maybe came up with a fix?

Elroy, if you are more specific about the problems you are having, others might be better able to offer trouble-shooting or recognize the same issues in their rig.

The problems happen when its doing a regen. It will either surge or boost completly dies when cruising along under light loads. When the boost dies the engine rattles and coughs and you can hear the throttle air valve slamming closed, when it slams closed the boost dies, drivability sucks in the first few gears pulling away from a stop it bucks and surges until it gets some boost built up and then takes off and spins right up. You can see the videos on You Tube at this link along with other glitches, wipers and a cruise control glitch. Truck is limited to 105 km hr it will switch to 97km hr and cruise will die and not set, if your bobtail it will pull itself to 110 km hr tho very slowly, then go back to 100, them up to 110 all with your foot to the floor. I'm going to get the limiter turned off, screw the tickets... that may solve that one.

So they are telling me the driveability goes away anytime the dd15 is doing a regen. When my truck was new regen was seemless I couldn't tell when it was in regen or not. Now as soon as regen starts it gets noisy, boost dissappears unless your on a hill with your foot on the floor and around town it won't make boost or run smoothly unlees its over 1400 rpm and a load on it. Fuel mileage is also in the crapper. Can anybody with an EPA 07 DD15 tell me if their experience is the same? Or do they even notice their truck doing a regen?
Thanks

I have had a problem with the truck concerning regens - I had two intake throttle control valves replaced - its basically a big servo-controlled, butterfly-plate valve. It would jam open, and the system would not regen at all. Eventually the DPF would clog, and the truck would quit running. Valve replacement and a parked regen fixed it. -
You never said the type of engine that you have in it. I would assume its a Series 60 with DPF. If this is the case, replace the EGR valve on it. My dad had power and fuel economy issues at random and got worse, but there were no CEL's. Eventually, the EGR got bad enough to set a CEL, it was replaced and the truck was back to brand new. There are also sensors that can fail, like temperature sensors for the exhaust, etc. That may cause regeneration issues.
Replace that EGR valve even if you don't a check engine light, what you will gain in fuel economy and power will justify paying for itself. No guarantees it will fix the problem, but more than likely it will.
