The thing I don't understand is why people just don't get this: IF you're one of those people who will run your truck and/or loads for LESS than $.90 per mile + the current Fuel Surcharge being offered by the majors, i.e. $1.45 per mile for ALL miles at the current FS, WHY don't you go lease on to one of the majors and QUIT killing rates out here for everyone else? Really, you'd be better off yourself to lease on to one of them and take the .90+FS, and clock that money for every single mile on the truck rather than run for less than that for loaded miles only.

Personally, I calculate a three trip average still for my own info, but I have to be truly desperate to get out of an area to take a load that pays less than the .90+FS being offered by the majors. I think it's a useful benchmark simply because if you can't do better than that, you should be at least over there doing that........ just my .02 cents, but then again, what the hell do I know?
