Don't the newer guys get screwed pretty much every where? I can see a guy that has thirty years with a company gets the day runs because they have earned it. I just don't think dispatch has to go out of their way to screw the new guys either and then turn around and complain because they haven't any new drivers to work. We have six old timers retiring. We need drivers bad. Let's hire a bunch of new drivers and screw them over so they can quit in three months and then keep repeating the process. We never get a stable driver pool to replace the retirees and that was the plan in the first place. I can stay where I am at on my 4 day schedule and throw in a couple of backhauls and bring home 580-630 a week. It is a day job and I am home every night. I bust my ### and at 51 the long term at doing this physical labor is not promising. At Trimac, I will be 2pm-2am probably (no definitely) end up working every weekend and probably bring home 700.00 a week. I also don't know how many hours that will entail. I still have to find out what is the percentage of pay on the loads. I hear fly ash and concrete don't pay that much. I am sure nothing is going to be perfect for any of us. We just have to make the right decisions and do what is best for us. To me, it sounds like they are going to see how much you will take before you speak up (you already did) and then they will either take care of you or start the whole process over to find another driver. Because of my years of transportation management, Trimac mentioned moving in to a office position when the new business comes on. Who knows what to believe. This could just be a ploy.
Kentucky 24 is # TRIMAC ( tanker yanker )

Trimac don't act like that as far as new guys etc
It's just the way it is at Calvert ... Problem is I wasn't told that till my truck was leased on ..
It's different as a IC as a company driver u have a bad week get screwed it's a bad check
As a IC if it happens you end up Negitive
No pay check and owe ...
Fixed expenses such as .. Insurance etc -
Trimac i maintain is a Great company !!!
The union has screwed this terminal ... That's all in return the new drivers get hosed ... -
yeah that is the risk of it. so you still think if Trimac calls I should give them a chance?
-
Yeah
I would , like I said it's a great place outside of the union -
Yep, the union guys are the crybabies. You think you should walk in the door and get the same thing that someone else has earned by being there ten or twenty years. It is called paying your dues. If you stick it out you will be the getting those primo runs.

I agree with you bucksandducks. I just don't know how relevant that is to someone like kentucky24 that is an IC. He signed on believing he was going to be given a certain amount of income and then that is given to someone else. If they would have said sign on but you need to know the union guys get first crack at everything, maybe he would have made a different choice. If I hire on as a new driver at Trimac, I expect to have to pay my dues and take crap jobs until I prove myself and eventually earn a better spot.

Thus , I'm transferring or ...
It will be first in first out as they speak except Fridays
Not every day -
I dont think I'm. Entitled to nothing except what the man that hired me said which turns out to be a lie in order to serve the cry babies and union cronies
This is the truth ...
It's first in first out depending on who u are -
I have been there for a couple of years and have not had any problems getting 2500-3000 miles per week being on the bottem of the list. Must be your problem
