Hello Everyone!!!!
Im just looking for a bit of advice. I recntly as many people became unemloyed and just as a coincidence my fiance was on a short break from his job as well. I decided to make an appointment for him with a recruiter in our local are in miami. (he has a class B cdl with all the endorsments) However when we got there the recruiter keep suggesting to us to consider driving as a team and introduce USX to us as a great company. I will be honest I ride a motorcycle and insitinctively big rigs is what I fear the most, but again there is nothing I am not willing to learn. I work for an airline for over 8 years, I have very little bills and I love to drive long distance. I think it would be a great experince for me and my fiance since there is no urgency to get home, but I would like to ask for guidance from those of you who are already there.
We live in Miami and we both have bikes, we have a lot of fun together and now we are willing to take on the rest of the country, while making money!!!
All advice welcome positive or negative

Well there is a lot to consider as you know.My best advice is to do a ton of research on any company you plan on going to.And to go to your unemployment office and see if they have a program that will pay for training rather than be in debt or in contract with any company.

stay away from lease programs. in the end your just assuming the debt for the company. yes u make more money but it takes .60cent a mile to operate a truck these days. most companys offer .90. and u never get the truck. i think crete good company the offer profit sharing and they have no debt. only company i know that offers it.90% of the companies pay short miles . basically you drive 2500mi you get paid 2200. stay with practical mile system you will do alot better. again there only a few that offer practical miles only the good 1s do.dont by into the bonus programs there just recruiting tools. the sun has to be shining on certain days . you didnt run enough miles etc. its bs. overall only person cares about you is you. these companies have no heart. T..here salesmen the bottom line is what can you do for me. ive been trucking for 20yrs. taken me along time find a good 1. truckers are a dime a dozen and the companies know it. thats why its hard to find a good 1. i would really suggest crete . pratical miles. profit sharing with a company has no debt. plus they have 401k. new equipment. its a win win . you might not travel all over the states but your with a good company. gud luck

Crete is a good company from what I hear but let me address a couple of things from this post. You are not going to find any company other than USX that will pay new, unexperienced teams .48 a mile.
The hazmat bonus is real and USX pays it. $2,500 per driver on a team paid in quartely installments. $500 first delivery and then $500 at the end of each quarter.
I agree on staying away from a lease.
