I talked to a recruiter today and he told 3.5 weeks training and then I would go solo.

Dude, Swift will hire you if you live in FL. Last I heard USX was requiring teams for Florida. That was in january. I am guessing areas with poor freight require teams though it seems odd considering FL is getting better. Try the comcar companies.
KHtransportHER and panhandlepat Thank this. -
What is the pay during the 160 hour gig?
-
$58 a day (basically $400 a week)

Thanks. If I get stuck driving team after training, what is ballpark pay per mile?
They will give me little credit for previous driving experience because it is in the past. Good thing about driving is that it stays in your bones and other than a little
rust in shifting for the first half hour, you never have to go through the fear factor again when you first started. -
For a team, pay is .48 a mile split with hazmat endorsement.

Thanks. That was clever how you got your wordpress blog in your signature. I had a previous account where I put a link to my website and bang I was permanently banned. After removing the cookie and creating another account I was fine.
I hope I go to Texas for Orientation; I want to go to Big Bend National Park on the way. -

USX does not have a CDL school. They do have a tuition reimbursement plan but they will not help you get the CDL.
