I am also in a similar situation, add to that I am 44 years old, and have been living with my older sister. I have a part-time job that has very unstable hours, so saving any money at this point is a moot point! I also don't have great credit, so getting financing for a "real" school is out at this point. I did speak to someone from a school in Colorado (where I also have a sister to live with), and they say their financing is on a case-by-case basis. I am very confused and my head is so full of these figures from all the websites, so I can not even think about this for a while.
I really wish you the best it is a very hard decision what with all the negative stuff out there about England! Prime is, for me at least, too far away, and I don't want my home base there. But, is that how it even works?? There are still so many things I do not know. CONFUSION SUX!!Last edited: May 29, 2011

Where ever you guys go ,do not sign a lease deal;it's a sure way to go broke and ruin your credit. If they try to force you to, walk out the door and don't look back;there are hundreds of posts on TR about wannabees getting burned by leasing.

Try looking at Rhoel and Millis Transfer in WI.

and that is the reason I am looking in California. I noticed that you are in MA, I come from Ma originally, was born and raised in Middlesex county.

You don't have to go to school in your home state. You will have to get your instruction (learner's permit) in the new state if you go somewhere besides home. This is pretty common. Most companies will try to get you to the closest to your home state's terminal unless you request otherwise, is my understanding.

Do a search - there's about a hundred threads with a thousand reasons NOT to go to CRE.
getn2it Thanks this. -

Lets just put it this way. the guy in charge of admission to the school i went to said to me there are many company you can sign on with just out of school, He than said "i dont like to talk crap on anyone company so I'm just going to circle this one" he circled CR England. also out on the road I have heard bad things about CR England as well.

Though I've never driven for CRE or any of these outfits, it seems like people in a bind always shoot for trucking as a last resort and end up getting burned in the end.
You guys should go to your career one stop centers and look into training. WIA grants or whatever instead of indentured service for a year. Predators can smell blood, and these big companies can sense desperation.
But good luck to you all.
