Haven't been OTR since 1983. Yikes. Drove a 1979 210" wheel base long nose Pete with a 3406 CAT, 13 speed with 355 rears. Ran the left coast from NJ pulling a 42' Timpte reefer. Had a 40' stainless Great Dane too. Hauled anything going west and garbage on the way back, did 3 rounds/mo. From blizzards that closed I-80 in Wyoming to blowing the scales at Las Cruces to trying to stay awake to the the Petro in Weatherford only to nod off at the 389 mile marker and lay it down in the median, I been there. Giddy-up. One crazy adventure after another. With a partner, I went from the 76 in Ontario to the market in DC in 48 hours flat, only stopped 3 times. It was the best job, the best time, I had in my life. But enough of the memories. Im thinking about going back to it but I have a feeling it may be as alien to me as the surface of Jupiter. Internet, GPS, WIFI, cell phones, gen IV LIDAR and god knows that else that has drastically changed life on the road in the last 25 years. Fuel was 75 cents/gal and my first radar detector was a Fuzz Buster, no lie.

Ok, you can beat me up now.

Were mostly flux capacitor powered these days. Tires are still round and roll. Plenty of good times to be had and stories to tell.

Interesting. Not much wheelbase for a hood, is it? What was that, a single axle with no sleeper?

He was making a musical reference to your username "Space Cowboy". From the lyrics of a Steve Miller song.

Wow, that almost looks like a Shirley Temple truck. I doubt it was... just saying. ;)

I am in the process of returning myself. Only been out of the business for 18 years. Got out in '93.

I have a lot of old memories, just can't remember them.
