1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

    Good morning jvar4001 !

I'm sure sorry that you have not heard back from us. We usually can have an answer for you within twenty-four hours, so I'm wondering if we messed something up in here somehow. If you still don't have an answer, feel free to call us and check (877-334-9677). Or if you prefer you can send me a pm with your name and address and I'll find out and get with with you.

    Thank you!

    Hi jlind!

I'm sorry that I didn't respond quicker than this...

We do not hire from that area. Florida is just a pretty tough market for us and we don't get through there often enough to hire drivers from there. I would hate to get you in a truck and not be able to get you home regularly!

I do appreciate your interest! Be Safe!

    Hi trucker43!

Did we post somewhere that we don't have APU's? I'm sure sorry if we somehow misinformed you because that information is not completely correct.

We do have APU's in many of our current fleet trucks and all new equipment is coming in with APU's installed. We just put a number of new Freightliner Cascadia's in service with more on the way. We also have new Internationals and Peterbilts on the way and all have APU's installed from the factory.

We did struggle early on though deciding on what APU to install in our trucks. It didn't make a lot of sense to us to put in the generator style APU which we felt added a lot of extra cost in maintenance not to mention additional fuel requirements. Our testing showed us that as the APU aged the maintenance problems and costs quickly exceeded the savings expected by using the APU. Not to mention that since this too would be considered an idling motor in some places causing further headaches.

We finally tested the NITE System ( http://www.nitesystem.com/ ) which is a battery powered solution that does not require an additional motor. We find this system a much better APU solution and this system and similar systems are what we are using in our trucks.

Whew... that's kind of a long winded answer to a very simple question! LOL. We do have bunk heaters in every unit, APU's in some with all new equipment coming with them installed. I sure wish we were 100 percent APU equipped units but we are not. The recession certainly put us behind on this project and several capitol intensive projects and equipment upgrades. We saw a lot of other companies fold under the pressure while we remained strong... a bit battered and bruised around the edges but we made it. We are now positioned to take advantage of a better market moving forward and hope that we can quickly move through our equipment upgrade schedules.

    Thank you for the interest!

    Jeff

Yes, you can get it after you start. We do not "require" it right now, however it sure opens up some freight opportunities so we do encourage you to get it.

    thanx!
