4,000 a month ?? My worst month at UPS was over 6K...and that was when it was slow..Best Industry ?? Not at all, declining by the month..due to the influx of people who will work for nothing. And just wait until NAFTA takes full effect. Unfortunately, you are entering an industry on it's way down, from formerly being a career choice, to just another job..

If you are talking gross income it is rare that I do not pull in 4k a month, and that is with one of the worst bottom feeder companies out there. However I would not suggest my job to anybody. If you were to base your income on a 40 hour work week I work 6.5 weeks a month to pull in that 4K. Not really all that great when you think about it.

My miles have been good for most of this year. My checks have been between $1100 and $1200/week gross as an average. I do stay out 3-3 1/2 weeks at a time usually though. It is not a perfect job for everyone, but I enjoy it and at least for now it's paying me reasonably well. Hope this helps you.

Lowest check that came in from my husband's job was $28.00 for two weeks.... that's after a draw (100.00) and child support.

I know that a 40 hour work week is not as much the norm as it used to be. However a lot of people with non driving jobs base annual income on a 40 hour work week. So in comparison if a month had 4 weeks and you worked 40 hours a week that would be 160 hours. In my current driving job I work an average of 65 hours a week. In 4 weeks that is 260 hours, divide that by 40 and you get 6.5.

My worst check was back in 06' around thanksgiving time and after my draw ($150) check was about $400 or so. Normally checks are about 1000-1100, however understand I'm company and I work #### hard for my pay. No goofing off, at times creative with company diary (logbook) and on my receivers to get me empty. Trucking has been on the decline and I will be changing going into the medical records industry but for now this is where the heart is.

on the decline? did this just start happening? ill be done school next week and have a few pre hires and recent grads always come back with their trucks..Seems like if you have a CDL and nothing is extreme on your records then your in! I heard someone else say its on the decline yesterday also..It dont seem like that to me, you get jobs/careers in this industry from what i have seen, maybe im missing something?
